France may be on another continent, but that doesn’t mean the delectable flavours of France had to be left there. Luckily, a slither of France came to Albany in the form of local favourite, Gourmandise and Co, a French bakery serving up a traditional fare in a quaint rustic setting and Liberte, a French-inspired bar.

Gourmandise and Co wood-fired salmon baked eggs are a stellar choice, as well as its in-house baked pastries and breads. We will forgive you for turning your breakfast into an impromptu food photoshoot as the way that the food is presented is one for the almighty gram’. Cap of your Frenchie feed with a cup of its organic coffee or freshly brewed tea in tow.

Come night time, visit the Parisian-themed bar, Liberte. Located in the historic London Hotel, the bar offers kitsch feels with its Boehme French décor adorning its walls and floors throughout the bars’ lounges. Its food is not so French although this is forgivable with its flavour flare Vietnamese-fusion inspired dishes leaving a bounty of good taste on your rouge palate. Pair it with its signature cocktail and let your senses be liberated!

Stand on the shoulder of tall giants

Check out another giant that rules along the Southern Coast.

Stand on the shoulders of WA’s giants by walking across the world-famous top tree walk, suspending high over the canopy of towering tingle trees, otherwise known as the Valley of the Giants.  This epic tree walk lets you have a bird’s eye view from its lightweight bridge that smoothly ascends 40 metres high above the ancient forest.

Come back down to earth and work your leg muscles walking along its boardwalk network, “Ancient Empire Walk.” This walk traverses a grove of old tingle trees – by old, we mean some over 400 years old! These trees are some of the tallest in the world and can only be found in the forest nearby the Valley of the Giants.

The park is nothing sort of stunning natural spectacles with forested hills divided by rivers and scenic creeks adding to the allure of this award-winning attraction.
