Crust Mount Lawley throws a social media pizza party

The team at Crust Pizza Mount Lawley served up a loud and proud pizza party last week, launching their new seasonal menu with pizza and beats – and they smartly had a bunch of Perth social media content creators on hand to get the party going.

Celebrating the new menu with Perth’s top food instagrammers, bloggers and loyal customers alike, the event featured music from Aussie DJ duo Peking Duk and pizzas were paired with 2 Brothers Gypsy Pear and Little Apple Cider as well as Phoenix Mauritius beer.

Not just a new menu for Crust loyalists; the addition of Bio-Cheese to the menu offering has excited conscientious for vegans, vegetarians and dairy-intolerant pizza fans, with the brand’s first official vegan pizza, the Herb Crusted Al Funghi.

Always ahead of the curve in terms of product innovation, Crust is the first QSR pizza brand in Australia to offer a totally vegan pizza.

“According to Google Trends, Australians google the word vegan more than any other country in the world, and we know the Perth foodie community are a health-conscious and sustainability focused group,” said Crust Mount Lawley franchisee Michelle Rechichi.

“We’re excited to be offering our customers a gourmet pizza made from quality ingredients that is truly vegan, without compromising on taste.”

Containing no meat or animal products and no dairy or egg products, the Herb Crusted Al Funghi features a gourmet wild mushroom medley topped with a thyme and rosemary crumb mix on a vegan béchamel base, garnished with truffle oil and fresh shallots.

A final sprinkle of BioCheese – a dairy-free alternative to mozzarella, made from coconut oil – adds a rich buttery flavour and creamy texture to the pizza.

Michelle said the new vegan pizza positions the brand as a deliciously diplomatic dinner destination, catering to mixed meat-eating and vegan groups.

“Our menu is not only modern and fresh, it also suits all” she said. “Our Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars are unique in that we offer everyone a quality, gourmet pizza, regardless of their dietary requirements.”

“Plus we have gluten free and vegetarian options, and we’re happy to make modifications to toppings and add the BioCheese alternative to any of our pizzas.”

Alongside the new vegan offering, Crust has now introduced house cooked chicken as another sustainably sourced pantry staple.

The second new pizza, Habanero & Mango Chutney Pizza, features house cooked chicken topped with mango chutney, green capsicum and spanish onions on a habanero & tomato base, garnished with peri-peri sauce, coriander and a lime wedge.
