Perth Pokemon Go Pubcrawl

Perth pubs and bars are not going to know what hit them…

Thousands of Perth Pokemon Go players are set to partake in an epic pubcrawl across the streets of Perth on Saturday, July 23.

Perth’s gaming community and AFK events are set to run the Pokemon pub crawl through Northbirdge and Perth City, that could be a nightmare for local authorities and a boon for business in the CBD.

In case you’re hiding under a rock, Pokemon Go was released on smartphone last week, and the entire world has gone crazy for the app.

On Sunday, 1000 Pokemon fans took to the streets of Perth in a well organised city walk, which involved WA Police and some volunteers managing car and foot traffic.

The same organisers are in the early stages of planning a pub crawl for the next event.

“We are currently in the planning stages with our friends over at AFK events,” The Pokemon Go Pubcrawl Facebook event page says.

The Pokemon GO pub craw will take players through locations in Northbridge and Perth city, culminating in a final location set up with Pokemon themed events.

The Perth Pokemon Go Pubcrawl looks similar to dozens of other events planned in cities around the world, a quick search of Facebook shows.

The Pokemon craze appears to be doing wonders for activating public spaces, with hundreds of people exploring areas across the city. For example, big crowds have been seen at locations like Kings Park – perfect spots to hunt for Pokemon.
