Perth photographer Littlek shared her first Perth Red Velvet latte with us on Twitter, inspiring this post.
The Perth Red Velvet latte found at Moore and Moore is made with chocolate beetroot syrup, Littlek said.
Update: Moore and Moore informs us their new latte is made in their own unique way.
“We make our own mix using Dutch cocoa, Demerara sugar and organic beetroot powder,” they said.
“The taste is slightly sweet, rich chocolate from the Dutch cocoa, and a slight fruitiness from the beetroot.”

Other ingredient variations of the red velvet latte can come with vanilla, cocoa powder, red food colouring or cream.
The Australian Red Velvet Latte revolution appears to have begun in Sydney earlier this year, with SBS reporting Sydney café The Local Mbass introduced the coffee to great Instagram acclaim. That Red Velvet Latte was described as “a warm marshmallowy cupcake in liquid form.”
SBS reported that the Local Mbass red velvet latte tasted like pancakes with berry butter cream, with some popcorn notes within. The concoction included mocha, batter and steamed milk.
