Wines of While

It’s a cosy little wine bar in Northbridge – and yet it’s so much more at the same time.

Wines of While is a William Street staple that specialises in natural and organic wines. And there’s even more to like about this hole-in-the-wall, like their small plates of food, their menu of wines by the glass, and their impressive store of drops to choose from to consume at one of their tables or to take home with you.

Take a stroll down and pop in (you can’t book), and you’ll find yourself here all night long.

The Royal Hotel

This is no ordinary Aussie pub.

The Royal Hotel reopened its doors in 2019 – and while it has new life in the form of incredible food and drinks (and an incredible restaurant called Fleur that is a must visit too), it still retains so much of its history too. Built in the gold-rush era in 1882 on the corner of William and Wellington Streets, its walls have a rich history but encased in a modern wrapper.

Grab a bevy and kick back on the balcony to watch the hustle of bustle of the city pass you by. And don’t forget to grab a bite or two (or more really as it’s all delish), as the dining options here are nothing short of wonderful.

Hyde Perth

City views, a rooftop pool and bottomless fries?

The Adnate Hotel’s Hyde Kitchen and Cocktails is the ultimate bar and restaurant – and screams summertime all year round.

With its chic interior and delicious cocktails, it’s the ideal CBD hideaway that considers itself casual by day and classy by night. Enjoy live DJs, sunshine dining and a relaxed vibe that makes it the ideal spot for a long lunch or evening destination.

Si Paradiso

Part bar, part restaurant, part live music venue – all soul.

Highgate’s Si Paradiso is the late-night venue we all love visiting and chilling out at in the early evening before it turns into a heaving dancefloor as the stars takeover the sky.

Toast the night away with the likes of spritzes, negronis or other popular drinks, or indulge in one of their signature pizzas that have us all swooning.

Check out their Facebook page to keep an eye on upcoming events and artists who will be gracing this place soon.

Strange Company

When the sun goes down in Fremantle, there’s one place you’ll find us, and that’s at Strange Company.

It’s a visual feast for the senses when you arrive here – wood panels, lush green accents and an open kitchen that allows the food creeps out there to really get a sense of the goods being pumped out to diners. Whether you stop by for a cheeky wine, or a mouth-watering tapas plate, there’s so many reasons to add this place to your bar and restaurant wishlist.

Keep an eye on their special boards for delights that aren’t on their normal menu – and are well worth ordering!

Mummucc

When you think of the suburb of Wembley, you’d be excused if you don’t immediately think it will be home to not one but two popular suburban spots.

If you haven’t eaten at Monsterella, you can’t call yourself a pizza-lover in our eyes! And the same owners are weaving their magic a couple doors down now at their second venue, Mummucc – a small bar that specialises in Italian fare and Italian-Australian wines.

Nab a table outside if you like to watch the world pass you by or curl up in a corner and raise a glass to your dining partners.

Northbirdge Dining Room and Wine Store

Source: @northbirdge_diningroom

No, the name Northbirdge is not a typo.

But look a little closer and you’ll see it’s a homage to its neighbour venue The Bird – and that alone is just a mere glimpse at the character of this new venue.

With a stellar line up of chef, manage, somms and owner, we’re expecting big things from this joint which is intimate, welcoming and has retained some of the beautiful stylings from its predecessor Young Love.

Sip on some wine (available by the glass or bottle) and nibble on the likes of duck liver parfait tart, charcuterie or bigger plates that the restaurant is dishing up.

We’re looking forward to seeing what this newcomer does.
