Adnate Hotel’s Perth Mega Mural Art Work is complete
A massive ‘mega mural’ art work on the side of the new Adnate hotel in Perth has been completed.
Melbourne artist Matt Adnate who the hotel is named after, has put finished touches on his massive mural on the Hay Street facing side of the new building.
The 25-story mural is one of the world’s tallest, the ‘Mega Mural at The Adnate’ eclipses his famed mural in Collingwood, Victoria. Although the Perth mural will be shorter than the world-record mural in Toronto, Canada.
The Perth version includes portraits of a Noongar man, an Indian woman and a Mediterranean woman.
The incredible artwork is created entirely with spray paint.
I’m taking different faces to create a story that runs the whole way down the mural,” Matt told Hotel Conversation.
“Each face tells a different history and background. It will depict the past through the cultural representation in the subject’s dressing elements, the present with contemporary faces, and the future as the subjects are the youth of today.”
The Perth Adnate hotel, part of the Art Series collection by Accord Hotels, will add 250 guest rooms to Perth city. The innovative new hotel includes a gymnasium, function rooms, pool area on the first floor, food and beverage destination serving local produce, serving and Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails.
The Adnate is due to open in October, the first Art Series hotel dedicated to street art in Western Australia.
The Adnate will be Accor’s ninth Art Series hotel in Australia, complementing the brand’s existing hotel portfolio – Melbourne hotels The Olsen, South Yarra; The Blackman, St Kilda Road; The Cullen, Prahan; The Larwill, Parkville; The Chen, Box Hill, along with The Watson in Walkerville, South Australia and The Johnson and The Fantauzzo in Brisbane, Queensland.
The Adnate is located at 900 Hay Street Perth WA
