If the Eagles are going to bounce back from their loss last week, they would surely do it on their home turf against Carlton..!?

The West Coast Eagles come into this weekend after suffering a fourth quarter fade out to the Saints last week, registering an 8-point loss at Etihad Stadium. Despite the loss, West Coast sharp-shooter Josh Kennedy kicked five goals, positioning himself second in the 2017 Coleman Medal race, while Mark LeCras kicked three goals.

The Eagles take on the Carlton Blues at Domain Stadium on Saturday, they will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing finish last week and get themselves back into the top eight. Some big news for West Coast supporters is that Matt Priddis has been named in the side this week, after being rested for the last couple of weeks with quad soreness. Lewis Jetta and Nathan Vardy also come back into the squad to face the Blues, while Will Schofield, Chris Masten and Malcolm Karpany have been omitted.

Carlton also comes into this game off an 8-point loss, going down to the Bombers last week at the MCG. The Blues did well to shut down Essendon’s first quarter dominance and claim the lead, they just weren’t able to hold on to it in the final quarter. Matthew Wright was one of the Blues best, kicking three goals, while skipper Marc Murphy finished with 32 disposals. They made just the one change to the squad this week with Tom Williamson coming in for Caleb Marchbank who is out with an arm injury.

The Eagles need to win this one to get their confidence back up if they are still planning to play finals. I’m sure Josh Kennedy’s focus is WCE getting back into the top eight, rather than winning a third Coleman Medal, either way – if he kicks a handful of goals, we will all be happy!

I’m tipping the West Coast Eagles to beat Carlton by 30 points!
