This is the perfect time for West Coast Eagles to improve their record against the Swans!

After an 11 point defeat at the hands of Richmond at the MCG last week, the West Coast Eagles will be looking to bounce back against the Sydney Swans at Domain Stadium on Thursday night. West Coast don’t have a great record against the Swans, having lost 9 of their last 10 clashes however, the Swans have looked a little sluggish in their first couple of games, so this could be a great chance for West Coast Eagles to overrun them.

Sydney have not won a game yet this season, one more loss will be the first time since 1993 that they have lost the first four games of a season. The Swans will have four players on field who are rated in the top 20 of the Schick AFL Player Ratings- Josh Kennedy (2nd), Luke Parker (11th), Buddy Franklin (12th) and Dan Hannebery (18th) although, it won’t mean a thing if they don’t perform on the night. Buddy has had a fairly slow start to the season so far and he will need to get his 10 million dollar groove back if Sydney want to start winning some games.

As we all know, the West Coast Eagles supporters are a force to be reckoned with, and will definitely give their team a boost of confidence. The atmosphere at Domain Stadium can really have an impact on the outcome of a game – as any home ground can! I think the fact that West Coast are playing at home will be a deciding factor for any footy tippers who are sitting on the fence with who to pick this week.

Keep an eye out for:

Battle of the Forwards – Josh Kennedy V Buddy Franklin

It will be a battle of the powerhouse forwards on Thursday night with JK up one end and Buddy at the other. Kennedy has been in pretty slick form in front of goals, kicking 13 for the season so far. Buddy has been a little bit inconsistent, with eight goals from three games, kicking four in his first two games and then none in round 3. I think the end result of the game will very much be reflected in which of these two has a better night in front of goals.

I will back the home team this week and stick with the West Coast Eagles, I am tipping them to beat Sydney Swans by 20 points! (I haven’t been doing very well in tipping this season so you may not want to take my word for it…)
