Can Fremantle Dockers make it three wins in a row??

I hope so! Port Adelaide Power travel to Perth to take on the Fremantle Dockers, who will be coming into this game on a massive high after their huge win against Brisbane Lions last week. Port come into this weekend off a narrow loss to the Bulldogs and will no doubt want to make up for it.

tabernerI literally cannot express how proud I am of the Freo lads. Without Matty Pavlich in the forward line last week, the boys really let loose! Matt Taberner booted 5 goals and Lachie Weller, Chris Mayne and Hayden Ballantyne kicked 4 each! Pavlich definitely has an aura around him on the field, and he brings a lot of experience to the Docker’s side. However, I feel like the young guys generally just try and stay out of Pav’s way in the forward line. They got the chance to really take charge last week and it clearly paid off. A little glimpse into life after Pav I guess…!? *Gulp*

pavlich13This is Port Adelaide’s chance to get into the top 8, so they are going to come out firing from the get-go. The Dockers have the home ground advantage in their favour and they are developing even more confidence as the weeks go by.

Power has a lot of run to their side with the likes of Robbie Grey and Travis Boak and it may be a lot for the young Freo side to handle through the midfield. I do have a lot of faith in Freo’s Connor Blakely and Lachie Weller though, not only do they position themselves well around the ball, despite their lack of game experience, they can lay exceptionally good tackles.

mayneFreo’s Chris Mayne has impressed me lately with his defensive pressure. He plays in the forward line and yet without fail, will always apply pressure to his opposition if they have the ball. I have seen him switch himself into a defensive mind set and back it up with second and even third efforts, and that’s what Freo needs to stay competitive. Constant pressure. Pressure forces the opposition to make mistakes.

While Freo are on a high I will continue to have faith in them, so I am tipping Fremantle Dockers to beat Port Adelaide by 8 points.
