FREO HEAVE HO!

What an awesome start to the 2019 season for the Fremantle Dockers! Coming into round one as the underdog, Freo made a huge statement with a 82-point win over North Melbourne Kangaroos. Cam McCarthy was outstanding for the Dockers, finishing with five goals and 20 disposals, Michael Walters managed three goals and skipper Nat Fyfe had 32 disposals and a goal.

Cam McCarthy has slightly struggled to find his groove since coming to the Dockers however, in the absence of new recruit Jess Hogan, McCarthy stood up and showed the AFL world what he is capable of. Rory Lobb played his first official game in purple and finished with a handy two goals, while debutant Lachlan Schultz impressed with two goals and 17 disposals.

This week the Fremantle Dockers take on the Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium. Gold Coast come into this round off a heart-breaking one point loss to St Kilda. Alex Sexton stood out for the Suns, finishing with four goals, while David Swallow managed three goals. Brayden Fiorini finished with a game-high 30 disposals.

Jesse Hogan has been named to make his official debut for the Dockers, while Hayden Ballantyne will miss a minimum three weeks with a hamstring injury. Nathan Wilson is the milestone man for Fremantle this week, he will play his 100th game against the Suns.

I’m tipping the Fremantle Dockers to beat the Gold Coast Suns by 30 points!
