Travel to Bali announced to return by early 2022 at the latest.

COVID-19 has taken travel off the cards for a long time, leaving many of us Aussies missing out on that annual Bali holiday.

Well, that trip might be a little closer than we thought with Qantas CEO Alan Joyce announcing that travel to Bali will return by 2022 at the latest, with the hopes that Aussies will be getting over there before Christmas.

Currently, vaccinated travellers to Indonesia are spending seven days in quarantine, but Qantas is in talks with the government about a different arrangement.

“The Indonesian government is looking for Bali, which is highly vaccinated, to do something similar to New South Wales,” he said.

He has suggested that travellers could spend a couple of days in the resort before being allowed out into the community.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been in regular discussion about travel between Australia and Indonesia during the course of the pandemic.

This move will look to help Bali rejuvenate its tourism industry, and have us Aussies back sipping some Bintang and cocktails poolside in no time.
