Australian Prime Minister has just announced significant changes as Australia begins to shutdown.

As of midday tomorrow Australia will be taking drastic action to curb the rise of the coronavirus.

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced that there is a need to move to more widespread restrictions on gatherings in spaces.

“Enclosed spaces, for gatherings in the following facilities, to be closed as of midday tomorrow.

“Registered and licensed clubs stop licensed premises in hotels and pubs. So that is in the licensed area, not in the accommodation area.”

“Entertainment venues and cinemas, casinos and nightclubs will also have to close.

“Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway only.”

“Indoor sporting venues, places of worship, enclosed spaces for funerals and things of that nature will have to follow the strict four square metre rule which will be enforced.”

Bottleshops will be able to remain open and trade as per usual.

While hospitality venues will be shut down across the country, schools will remain open.

Mr Morrison said there has been “no change” to the medical evidence for keeping schools open.

Australia now has over 1,300 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
