Kids welcome in the Valley – The Swan Valley is fast becoming Perth’s number one family destination.

We all know that the Swan Valley is one of the most picturesque regions in Perth. You might think the wineries and breweries are more geared towards couples and friends, but there are some great spots that offer an awesome day out for the whole family.

If you want to head to the Swan Valley for a spot of wine tasting but you don’t want the kids to be bored out of their minds, check out these 6 awesome family friendly wineries in the Swan Valley.

Mandoon Estate & Homestead Brewery

Playground in a beer garden. Genius – Source @mandoonestate

Relaunched in 2014, Mandoon Estate has fast become the go-to winery for families looking for a chilled out afternoon in the sun. They have a fully fenced playground, a large open grassy area with benches and they encourage families to bring their own picnic blankets and chairs and relax in the gardens for the afternoon while feasting on gorgeous platters from the beer garden menu.

Carilley Estate

With a kids’ playground on site, a large lawn area and a cubby house, Carilley Estate offers a great experience for families visiting the Swan Valley. Stop for a tasting at their cellar door or head to the restaurant for a spot of lunch Fridays to Sundays during summer.

Laughin’ Barrel

A little off the beaten track you’ll find the Laughin’ Barrel. Ideal for kids with its fenced playground adjoining the alfresco dining area, you can keep an eye on the kids while you enjoy your lunch or wine tasting (or both!).

Oakover Grounds

The kids are just loving our gigantic Connect Four –

If your kids love water, Oakover Grounds is the winery for you! While you certainly can’t swim in their lake, they do have pedalos which are free to use when you visit their cellar door or restaurant (just remember to grab a life jacket first). The lake is also full of barramundi and if your kids love fishing you can try your hand at catching a few. If you want to keep your catch, you can pay by weight and take your catch home.

Olive Farm Wines & The Cheese Barrel

Love wine and cheese? This venue has you covered with a gorgeous cellar door with award-winning wines at Olive Farm and right next door you’ll find The Cheese Barrel which, as you may have guessed, is chock full of gorgeous cheeses from around the Australia and the rest of the world. The Cheese Barrel has a massive open space for kids to run around as well as two large sandpits which are covered by shade sails, making them a great spot for a cheese platter and refreshing drinks on a summer afternoon.

Added Bonus:

The Henley Brook

While The Henley Brook might not be a winery… it is one of the most family-friendly places in the Swan Valley. If you are lucky you could be there on the same day the Cuddly Animal Farm is there.

If you love great eats, local drinks and plenty of space for the kids to be free-range? Then The Henley Brook is the spot for you.

Book a spot on the grass with a chalkboard to keep the kids entertained.
