After 70 years of supporting Western Australians living with disability, Activ is turning the page, morphing to a new name as of September 1st, but with the same deeply rooted purpose. Say hello to genU.

The shift is less of a rebrand and more of a natural evolution to reflect the disability support provider’s renewed commitment to inclusion, innovation, and helping people live the life they choose. The name may be changing, but the values that have underpinned Activ’s work for decades remain firmly intact.
Clients can expect the same passionate local teams, the same life-changing services, and the same heart that Activ has shown for seven decades. But now with more opportunities, more resources, and more ways to make a lasting impact.
The move to genU means WA clients now have greater access to a national network of support, with expanded services and resources to help individuals thrive. And while this change marks an exciting new chapter, it also carries forward a legacy that’s been a combined 150 years in the making.
Whether you’ve been connected to Activ for years or you’re just discovering the incredible work being done in this space, genU continues to champion genuinely inclusive communities, both locally and nationally.
We understand that mergers can sometimes feel like a bit of a corporate shuffle, but that’s not the case with this one. By joining forces, genU and Activ are combining strengths, amplifying their influence, and unlocking more potential to fund programs that sit outside the government system. The result is a louder voice, stronger partnerships, and deeper community support right here in WA.
Because whether it’s community programs, employment assistance, or supported living services, genU’s mission is simple: provide the support required to enable people living with disabilities to live the life they choose.
