Ocean Heroes are hosting the Varsity 24 Hour Swim in the name of raising funds for the autism community.
For the second year running, the Ocean Heroes X Varsity 24 Hour Swim is hitting Scarborough Beach Pool in the name of raising autism awareness.
Head down any time this weekend from Friday, April 8th, 4 pm – Saturday, April 9th, 4 pm to cheer on 14 teams of over 150 swimmers as they swim non-stop laps to raise much-needed funds for Ocean Heroes to continue their important work.
There’s no entry fee to watch, and you can get your hands on some tasty burgs and bites from the Varsity Food Truck between 4 pm – 9 pm on Friday and 6 am – 7 pm Saturday.
Who Are Ocean Heroes?
If you haven’t heard about these guys, then listen up – because what they’re doing is pretty awesome.
Founded in 2016 by Sam Moyle, Luke Hallam, and Tom Johnston, Ocean Heroes provide public surfing lessons free of charge for people on the autism spectrum in Western Australia.
They run the classes in both regional and metro areas up and down the state, providing a fun and healthy way for people on the spectrum to take part in organised sport, boost their confidence and make connections with others.

In order to continue doing the important work, Ocean Heroes relies on support from you.
Aside from heading down poolside to get amongst it, a donation helps keep these guys paddling by proving funds for essential equipment and supporting their dream to take this state-wide.
Every dollar big or small gives kids on the autism spectrum a chance to experience something truly special.
