Returning after a successful inaugural year of “The Cott Goes Pink” in collaboration with Breast Cancer Care WA, Prendiville Group — the company behind a few of Perth’s favourite venues like The Cottesloe Beach Hotel, Isola Bar e Cibo, Lontara, and many more — is branching out to spread awareness with a series of fundraising activations this October.
Raising money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care WA
Every year, BCCWA provides crucial support to the more than 1,700 Western Australians diagnosed with breast cancer. Their services range from counselling, support groups, and regional outreach to financial and practical assistance.
Prendiville Group Executive Director Warwick Prendiville said the “Go Pink” initiative aims to raise funds and awareness to support the invaluable work carried out by BCCWA. The ultimate goal is to make a positive difference to the lives of those impacted by breast cancer.
“With one in seven women developing breast cancer at some point in their lives, there’s a strong likelihood that someone in our circle — be it family, friends, or colleagues — could be impacted,” Prendiville said.
Multiple activations across 15 venues this October
Activations across the month will include the Wall of Support, Breast Friends Lunch, and Go Pink Beverage Menu. Plus, the brand new Skip My Room initiative where $5.00 will be donated for every guest who chooses to pass on having their hotel room turned at Tradewinds Hotel, Samphire Rottnest, The Cottesloe Beach Hotel, The Hedland Hotel, Karratha International, Mangrove Hotel, and Pier 21 Apartment Hotel.
The Wall of Support — a symbol for strength and solidarity, encouraging conversation around the complex and sensitive topic of breast cancer — will be featured at The Beach Club within The Cottesloe Beach Hotel and The Bay Club within Mangrove Hotel in Broome.
The activation purpose is to encourage locals and visitors to bring a bra to the venue and add it to the accumulating collection of undergarments. For every bra hung up during the month, Prendiville Group will donate $5.00 to BCCWA.
Blinged, busty, lacey, and lucid — all colours, sizes, and styles are welcome. Those contributing can add a bra directly to the wall or pass on their addition anonymously to a friendly staff member.
Smashing goals and hitting new heights
Last year, Cottesloe Beach Hotel led the charge by raising a whopping $33,285 for BCCWA through its month-long “The Cott Goes Pin” campaign. This year, the collaboration is taking the initiative to new heights and expanding it across Prendiville Group properties with “Go Pink”.
Prendiville said he’s proud to be part of a team who have all jumped on board to participate in the cause.
“After the success of last year’s campaign, we’re collectively driven to ramp up our efforts to make an even greater difference to the communities we operate in, with a particular focus on supporting these critical services for families in the regional areas of WA and beyond.”
Wall of Support, Breast Friends Lunches, and Exclusive Menus
15 Prendiville Group venues — both metropolitan and regional — in WA are participating in “Go Pink” activitations this Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). Here’s a taste of what you can expect:
Wall of Support
The Wall of Support — at The Cottesloe Hotel and Mangrove Hotel — encourages the community to bring a bra to the venue and add it to the accumulating collection of undergarments. For every bra hung up during the month, Prendiville Group will donate $5.00 to BCCWA.
Breast Friends Lunches
Every weekend, Breast Friends Lunches will take place at The Cotesloe Hotel and Luce Bar e Cabo. Expect a three-course, set menu ($75.00 per person) where 15% of proceeds are donated to BCCWA.
Go Pink Beverage Menu
All Prendiville Group venues will be offering an exclusive Go Pink beverage menu with 15% of proceeds from each drink sold donated to BCCWA.
Skip My Room
This year, there’s also the brand new Skip My Room initiative where $5.00 will be donated for every guest who chooses to pass on having their hotel room turned.
