Whether it’s a first date or date night with your partner, Perth has a vast range of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Perth City is continually growing with the bar and restaurant scene getting bigger, so why not make the CBD your first choice for date night! I have visited some fantastic bars you might fall in love with too.

Dinner and Drinks

Print Hall

With a central city location in a heritage listed building, Print Hall offers casual food and drinks as you walk in the door. For those who prefer private dining, there is a modern dining hall which offers a four or nine course degustation menu. When visiting Print Hall, do not pass the impressive cocktail menu as there are some colourful delicious drinks on offer. If cocktails are not your thing, Print Hall has an award winning wine list which you are sure to find something thirst quenching to accompany dinner.

Cost: Main Bar: $55p/p (approx.), Dining Hall: Four Courses $110p/p, Nine Course Degustation $150p/p
Location: Brookfield Place, 125 St Georges Terrace, Perth CBD, Perth, WA
Opening Hours: Mon-Thurs: 11.30am-9.30pm, Fri: 11.30am-12am, Sat: 4pm-12pm, Sunday: Closed.

C Restaurant

C Restaurant_0

The C Restaurant provides a ‘dining in the sky’ experience to all its customers. The restaurant, 33 floors above the ground, spends one hour completing a full 360 degrees, but diners are free to spend as long as they please enjoying their meals. The view is sure to impress any date.

Having been here once in the early evening and once in the late evening, my preference was the early evening as we were able to see and point out many more familiar places and see a little further along the Perth skyline.

There is an A La Carte menu for the evening which consists of two courses of contemporary dining for $94, (not including main course sides), with the option to add an additional course for $15. The good thing about contemporary dining is that portion size is not too large so diners won’t be too full to continue the night after the meal.

If a budget is not of concern, the C Restaurant is definitely somewhere to be considered.

Cost: 3Course Menu $125p/p (approx.)
Location: Level 33, 44 St. George’s Terrace, Perth 6000
Opening Hours: Mon-Sun: 12pm-5-pm & 6pm-11pm except Sat: 12pm-4pm & 5pm-10pm

The Stables Bar

The Stables Bar

The Stables Bar is also suitably situated in Perth CBD. The atmosphere here is quite relaxed, yet busy, with indoor and outdoor seating available on a ground and upper level.
The Stables is a bar to consider if you are after a more casual and relaxed meeting. The food in the bar is aimed to be shared and they also boast a creative cocktail menu. It contains cocktail classics for those who like to stick to what they know as well as a few that you may not know.

If you are after something a little more romantic, the upper level is particularly impressive with a panoramic city skyline view. The seating is a little more ‘restaurant like’ with full table service and more menu choices.

Cost: 3Course Menu: $55p/p (approx.)
Location: 888 Hay St, Perth WA 6000
Opening Hours: Mon-Sat 11am-late

Small Bars

The Cheeky Sparrow

Cheeky Sparrow

The Cheeky Sparrow is located down Wolf Lane and is one of my favourite bars to meet at from the early evening onwards. There is quite a range of drinks to choose from and the staff can help if you are not sure what to have.

Although it is not a large location, patrons can find themselves a cosy table or a large booth to sit at. The food menu is aimed towards sharing with a range of pizzas, salads and small sharing dishes. Every Wednesday, all pizzas are half price and a few new additions have been added to the menu.

The interior is modern with music in the background and a DJ later in the evening. This is the perfect place for a few drinks and nibbles, with the option to continue drinks late into the night.

Location: 317 Murray St., Perth 6000
Opening Hours:  Mon: 6.30am – 12pm, Tues-Thurs:6.30am – Late, Fri: 6.30am – Midnight, Sat: 3pm – Midnight, Sun: Closed

Situated within walking distance of The Cheeky Sparrow, you will find another trendy bar.

Wolf Lane Bar

Wolf Lane Bar

I went to the Wolf Lane Bar on a Saturday night and walked into a fun and hipster atmosphere with an open layout. It’s one of Perth’s finest small bars hidden down the alleyway of Wolf Lane. It compares itself to a ‘NYC loft’ and this is exactly what you will see from the minute you arrive.

Like many other bars on this list, Wolf Lane has a few tasty cocktails to check out such as a Mojito or Charlie Chaplin. Why not share a ‘Teapot Cocktail’ for two such as the Queen of Hearts. What I love about this particular bar is the vintage interior. There are large armchairs and sofas to sit together and get to know each other or catch up. But, if there is an awkward silence, you can always talk about the funky setting.

You won’t get a sit down meal at Wolf Lane, but you will be able to order some light bar snacks. The music is great and not too loud early on in the evening with a DJ arriving to pump more energy in the Wolf Lane Bar patrons.

Location: Rear 321 Murray St., Perth 6000
Opening Hours: Fri + Sat: 4pm-1am

Petition

Petition

Petition is a very recent addition to the bar list in Perth CBD. It is a clever venue combining the Petition Kitchen, Petition Beer Corner and the Petition Wine Bar & Merchant in the beautifully restored State Buildings.

The Petition Beer Corner is a great choice for drinks in a bright and busy atmosphere. The bar showcases 18 different beers across what can be described as a ‘beer table’, but you’ll have to see this for yourself! There is a tailored menu available in the bar with options to perfectly compliment your beer of choice.

If beer isn’t your thing, you can pull up a seat in the classy and relaxing Petition Wine Bar & Merchant. Wine lovers can purchase by the bottle or the glass and if you are feeling peckish, there is a light snack menu to order from.

Location: Corner of Barrack St., and St. George’s Terrace, Perth CBD 6000
Opening Hours: Mon-Thurs 11am-12am, Fri-Sat 11am-2am, Sunday 11am-10am

I am positive I could add more restaurants and bars to this list, however, these few will get you off to a good start in exploring the streets of Perth CBD.

Enjoy your next date night!
