The Freo Dockers are roaring favourites right now, but it’s a West Coast home game and it could be a close battle. There’s little doubt it will be a passionate game, with both sides relishing the chance to take home turf bragging rights.
What do Perth’s sports media commentators and Journalists think will happen?
At PerthNow, Sports reporters Chris Robinson, Braden Quartermain and Ben Robinson are all tipping Freo by good margins.
“Anything can happen in a derby, but recent history suggests one thing that’s highly likely to happen is a Freo victory,” reckons Robinson
“Nat Fyfe is just too good. I think he’s untaggable given he wins most of his own ball,” says Quartermain
“The best formguide is recent derbies and that includes last month’s NAB Challenge match which the Dockers won by 19 points,” says Robinson.
Meanwhile, over at WAToday, Football writer Brad Elborough has reckons West Coast should be starting as favourites for the clash.
“Based on these numbers, and the perceived potential of the team’s respective line-ups when they entered the AFL, West Coast should start as firm favourites – but they won’t,” says Elborough.
