A great steak needs little more than a premium cut, hot flame, and someone who knows exactly when to pull it from the grill.
For a high-end steak experience (without risking setting off the smoke alarm), trust the experts who’ve elevated beef to an art form. From dry-aged ribeyes carved tableside to bistro-style bavette with golden frites, these are the venues serving the best steaks in Perth.
Nextdoor

True to its name, Nextdoor sits cheek‑by‑jowl with Olsen Butchers, offering a complete butcher‑to‑plate experience in South Perth. Every steak hits the grill over 100% jarrah hardwood, burning hot, fast, and smoky for that perfect crust and edge-to-edge cook. The steaks are seasoned with nothing but salt, then served with a fire-roasted chimichurri that lifts without overpowering.
First timers should aim squarely at the 750g Cape Grim ribeye: a pasture-fed Tasmanian cut with a marble score of 4-5 and enough decadence to anchor the table without tipping into excess. If you’re ready to blow your mind (and your budget), there’s the Stoneaxe wagyu ribeye: an enormous full-blooded Australian wagyu with a 9+ marble score. It’ll set you back $390.00, but it may just be the best steak you’ll ever eat.

Meat & Wine Co.

After a recent renovation that’s left it looking better than ever, Meat & Wine Co. is back slinging premium steaks in the CBD. Known for its African-inspired basting and seasoning, the steaks are hand-picked from farms across the country with a diverse range of cuts. Highlights include the Monte Grain Fed beef exclusively sourced for the Meat & Wine Co. from the oldest beef registry in the world, as well as the marbled wagyu steak, cooked precisely to your liking.
This steakhouse has serious credentials, and we’ve heard whispers of multiple expansions happening within the next few months. Stay tuned, Meat & Wine Co is opening soon in South Perth.

Intuition Wine & Kitchen

One of the newest venues on this list, Intuition Wine & Kitchen, impresses with its Stirling Range Eye Fillet with wild mushroom, stuffed conchiglioni, brioche mousseline, crispy enoki, and an Italian truffle jus. This dish got a ‘wow’ from all of us, and challenges for the unofficial title of Best Steak in Perth.

Fallow
Fallow makes the difficult decisions for you. The Northbridge newcomer offers a balanced four-course steak dinner designed for two or more people, complete with starters, sides, steak, and a sweet.
It kicks off with grilled focaccia, Spanish jamón, and house pickles, followed by golden zucchini fritters and baked Shark Bay scallops swimming in black garlic and chive butter. Then comes the main event: a 1kg dry-aged T-bone, carved to share and accompanied by a port jus, fries dusted in berbere, and smoky wood-roasted broccolini.
There’s dessert, too. The $120.00 per person feast finishes with the Instagram-famous sticky date pudding, baked in a skillet, drowning in a salted caramel sauce, and topped with a melting scoop of vanilla ice cream. Come hungry.
Fallow: 314 William St, Perth
La Lune

Steak frites might be a bit of a bistro cliché, but La Lune’s take on the simple, succulent dish is anything but boring.
The polished Parisian hot spot does the classic with conviction. Tender bavette comes sliced across the grain, blushing at the centre and seared to a deep bronze around the edges. It’s served with a glossy, all-consuming bearnaise sauce and an unruly heap of golden fries.
La Lune: 73 George St, East Fremantle
Rockpool Bar & Grill

Widely regarded as the original big spender on Perth’s steak scene, Rockpool still holds its own nearly two decades on. Now under the helm of head chef Brendan Owens, the kitchen continues to turn out premium cuts with pinpoint precision. Each steak is dry-aged in-house (you can catch a glimpse of the ageing rooms at the entrance) and cooked over ironbark charcoal, giving the meat an unmistakable depth and char.
Choose your cut, your sauce, and your sides, and watch the chefs work their magic in the open-plan dining area.

6HEAD

There’s no shortage of waterfront dining in Perth, but few do it with the protein pedigree of 6HEAD. With wraparound river views and a glass-fronted dry-ageing cabinet, the Sydney-born steakhouse opened on Elizabeth Quay in late 2023 with incredibly high expectations, and thankfully, the beef to back it up.
Steaks here are sourced from Australia’s premier producers, going to Mayura Station for wagyu, Collinson & Co for grass-fed Black Angus, and O’Connor for grain-fed Black Angus. Cuts like the eye fillet, sirloin, and ribeye arrive cooked precisely over an open flame, letting the quality of the meat do the talking.
The signature is a 1kg tomahawk, shown at the table before going on the grill and then carved tableside. Dinner and a show.

TOMA

The team at TOMA puts the wood-fired parrilla grill through its paces. Located within Pirate Life Perth, the flame-fuelled restaurant provides a range of steaks in different sizes and price points, catering to casual drop-ins chasing quick mid-week lunches and long protein-heavy dinners in the dimly-lit dining room.
Currently on offer is a colossal 1kg O’Connor grass-fed T-bone going for just $50.00 every Wednesday. It’s top-quality beef on a budget in the heart of the CBD, proving that big flavour doesn’t have to come with a big price tag.
TOMA: 440 Murray St, Perth
Vincent Wine

There’s only one place in Perth where you can get Lake Janis Farm’s scotch fillet, and that’s down the Paris end of Northbridge inside the intimate Vincent Wine. The prime cut at this Parisian-inspired wine bar is terrifically tender. It’s sliced and plated with a rich Bordelaise sauce (a classic French accompaniment made from red wine), with a separate bowl of golden frites made for mopping up every last drop.
Pair it with a glass of something bold from the beautifully curated wine list and settle in for a dining experience that feels effortlessly elegant.
