For generations, The Cottesloe Beach Hotel has been the unofficial anchor of Perth’s coastline, a meeting place where sundowners, celebrations, and late-night memories play out against the ocean. Tigerfish is the latest chapter in that story — a fresh-faced reinvention that both respects its roots and sets sail in a new direction.
“Cottesloe’s hospitality scene is subtly transforming for the better, and Tigerfish aims to offer a fresh new flavour that celebrates and respects our amazing beachside lifestyle,” says Warwick Prendiville, Executive Director of the Prendiville Group. His vision was to bring more verve and variety to the coast, and Tigerfish carries that ambition into every detail.
A cocktail of colour, texture, and theatre
Step inside and the design reads like a cocktail: pastel tones and terrazzo floors softened with lounge-ready furnishings, cut through with flashes of red and spice drawn from Southeast Asia. Booths that open and close, a curved cocktail bar, and an open robata grill keep the experience lively, layered, and deliberately unexpected.
“Every detail is layered with intention, whether guests are discovering the curved cocktail bar, cocooning in a booth, or watching the theatre of chefs at the open robata grill. At Tigerfish, the design isn’t just a backdrop, it’s the mix that keeps the experience fresh, surprising, and distinctly Cottesloe,” Prendiville continued.
The identity, crafted by Melbourne’s Projects of Imagination, captures the venue’s dual personality — light and inviting by day, bold and magnetic by night. Jewel-like colours and confident typography mirror the flavours on the plate and the rhythm of the coastline outside.
“With Tigerfish, our goal was to celebrate the experience visually,” says the Projects of Imagination team.
“Every detail, from colour and type to pattern and tone, was designed to carry the energy of coastal living and transform with the guest experience.”
A share-style menu designed to match the drinks
We don’t know that much about the menu just yet, but we’ve been told that it leans into share plates, balancing Southeast Asian accents with the freshness of coastal dining. It’s a menu designed for long lunches that roll into sunset, quick snacks after a swim, or evenings that stretch late into the night.
Their signature drinks are no less considered, anchored by a suite of handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list.
“The venue lends itself to whatever experience you’re looking to have, whether it’s popping in right from the beach and grabbing a seat in the front bar, coming in to celebrate an occasion in our private dining room, or your weekly staple with friends and family – Tigerfish really is a space for everyone.”
