McNally’s opened recently on Rokeby Road, bringing an elevated take on traditional Irish pub culture to Perth’s leafy inner west. The venue is the sister to the ever-popular Roberts on Oxford and comes from the same creative mind: hospitality figure Robert McNally, who designed, built, and now operates the space. It’s a multi-level venue that feels both timeless and lived-in, despite being brand new.
The design philosophy was simple: create a pub that feels like it’s always been there. McNally personally led the construction from the ground up, ensuring every detail captured the soul of a classic Irish local. Downstairs, you’ll find walls lined with old-school paintings and memorabilia, cosy corners anchored by open fireplaces — we did mention warmth — and a striking art-deco-inspired bar that sets the tone for the entire space.
“McNally’s is about comfort and connection,” says owner Robert McNally. “It’s a place where the lights are a little softer, the fire’s going, the music’s right, and you instantly feel relaxed. We wanted it to feel familiar in the best way, like a pub you already know, even if it’s your first visit.”
The colour palette leans into deep navy blue tones layered with warm textures, creating a refined and welcoming atmosphere. There’s a deliberate sense of character woven throughout, from the thoughtfully curated wall art to the vintage-inspired finishes.
What’s on tap and on the menu
McNally’s doesn’t skimp on the essentials. Magners, Guinness, and Kilkenny are all on tap, alongside a dedicated wine cellar that’s particularly well-stocked for red wine enthusiasts. Whether you’re after a proper Irish pint or a bottle to share over Sunday lunch, the drinks offering covers all bases.
The food menu centres on pub classics executed properly. You’ll find the iconic Spice Bag, steak sandwiches, sliders, and a ploughman’s board, alongside a traditional Sunday Roast served with all the trimmings.

Live music runs Thursday through Sunday, featuring a rotating lineup that showcases Perth’s homegrown talent alongside Irish acts from the local music scene. If It’s anything like Roberts on Oxford, it’s sure to bring energy and authenticity to the venue, guaranteeing a good night out.
