From late winter until early summer, strawberries are ripe for the picking! The season is in full swing, so this is your sign to make a day of it with a visit to some of the best strawberry-picking farms in Perth.
When it comes to where to go, there are quite a few options. Some north, some south, and plenty of variation in pricing and opening hours. We’ve rounded up a list of the best places because who doesn’t want a box full of strawberries at a ridiculously cheap price?
Kien’s Strawberry Farm

The family-run, Gnangara-based Kien’s Strawberry Farm has been growing strawberries for more than 20 years, so it’s fair to say they’re honed in the art. Every year, they open for locals and blow-ins alike to enjoy the experience of harvesting their very own fresh strawberries. These guys are one of the first to open in season, usually on Saturdays from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm, or until picked out. Pick-your-own boxes cost $15.00 (cash only); pre-picked boxes are also available for purchase.

Thomas Le Strawberries – Lot 969
Thomas Le Strawberries are known for their size, with standard strawberries larger than a 50-cent coin. It’s safe to say these juicy berries are definitely worth the travel time.
During the strawberry season, punnets and boxes of berries are for sale at the farm shed. While opening times may vary during the week, the farm always shares dates and times in advance on its Facebook page. Like most farms, pick-your-own dates are released on social media a few days prior, so keep your eyes peeled.

Sue & Tim’s Fresh Farms

For a farm just 30 minutes from the city, Sue & Tim’s has an exquisite amount of fresh fruit and vegetables. Open Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm, entry is free and pick-your-own boxes are just $20.00. Remember to bring cash, as like many of the other strawberry farms, they don’t have EFTPOS. You’ll also find locally-grown garlic and avocados for sale, and pre-picked boxes available. This farm is a must-stop for any berry lover.

Minh Tran’s Strawberry Farm
Support your local growers by making your way to Wanneroo for this year’s strawberry season. Nestled in Neerabup, Minh Tran’s Strawberry Farm is well and truly packed with berries ready to be picked. With pre-packed boxes starting from $20.00 and $15.00 for pick-your-own, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Gates are open from 7:30 am until 3:00 pm, almost every weekend.

My Strawberry Farm

My Strawberry Farm promises plenty of big, red, juicy berries to go. They also charge $15.00 for a pick-your-own box, if you’d prefer the whole farm experience. They are usually open from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, until picked out.
Despite the name, they also have other local produce available. From the shed, you can buy garlic, ginger, free-range eggs, avocado, blueberries, and sweet local oranges. Just don’t bring your own bucket, bag, or basket. They ask that you only use the supplied box, which you can fill to around 3.5 kilograms. We recommend arriving earlier to snag the ripest strawberries, and if you’d prefer a quieter picking experience.
