The Meat & Wine Co. Shows Off A Refreshed Fitout

One of Perth’s favourite steakhouses recently got a bold new makeover – and that’s not the only surprise on the menu.

The Meat & Wine Co. in Perth’s CBD recently revealed a sophisticated redesign after a very short, blink-and-you-miss-it closure. The new look plays into the brand’s African heritage and signature luxury experience it’s known for. With elegant new furnishings and custom-built Acacia trees now taking centre stage in the dining room, it’s a great excuse to book in and re-experience one of Perth’s top steakhouses.

Since opening in 2018, The Meat & Wine Co. has carved out a reputation for exceptional steak, impeccable service, and one of the best Mac & Cheese dishes you’ll find anywhere in the country.

Design that blends heritage with modern flair

Designed by leading architects COOOP, the updated space seamlessly blends the grand, old-world elegance of the building’s former ballroom with a modern, cultural sensibility.

Creative Director Callie Van Der Merwe says the redesign is about more than just aesthetics: “The design refresh is both aesthetic and a successful mechanism to bind the disconnect and duality between the old Baroque-esque detail of the old ballroom and the new contemporary extension of The Meat & Wine Co.”

Highlights of the redesign include high-back banquette seating for added comfort and privacy, upgraded sound and lighting for a more ambient experience, and a fresh spatial layout that creates a sense of energy without sacrificing intimacy.

A second location on the way

And there’s more big news on the horizon: The Meat & Wine Co. will soon open a second Perth location, this time in South Perth at the iconic former Coco’s site. With sweeping Swan River views and a high-end fitout expected to match, it’s set to become another go-to destination for steak lovers across the city.
