Le Rebelle
La Rebelle describes itself as a place where “the nostalgia of Paris meets New York”, and based on that, we’re already sold. This three-tiered restaurant features a bistro, wine bar, and intimate dining area, so essentially, it meets all of your needs. The food is European, the helpings are generous, and the atmosphere is effortlessly charming.
Si Paradiso
Known for its courtyard dance floor, Si Paradiso is more than just Saturday night boogies and iconic disco balls (although we do love both of those things about this spot). Away from the beats, tucked inside, is the Dining Room, with a cosy wine bar feel and an impressive vino list featuring winemakers from across Australia and Europe. The menu changes with the seasons, but year-round it’s about showcasing Western Australian produce, inspired by beloved Italian dishes and flavours. If you’re looking for something more casual, back outside in the courtyard, pizzas and bar snacks take centre stage, alongside the disco ball, of course.
Nazzar
Nazzar brings modern Middle Eastern dining to Perth with bold, herb-packed dishes and rich, aromatic flavours. Expect vibrant share plates, fresh ingredients, and punchy spices designed for sharing. Tommy’s
If Mexican share plates, jalapeño margaritas and DJs every night of the week is your kind of vibe, then Tommy’s is your kind of spot. This neighbourhood wine bar and cantina is all about zesty share plates, street-style tacos, and cheeky Spanish cocktails that you won’t find on a menu elsewhere.
Bar Rogue
Bar Rouge on Beaufort Street blends laid-back comfort with a touch of sophistication. It’s a cosy wine bar that works for both a casual drink with a snack or a full sit-down meal. Few places balance relaxed vibes and nice dining this well, but we’d say Bar Rouge manages it effortlessly.
Twenty Seats
As the name suggests, Twenty Seats welcomes around 20 guests each night to indulge in a ten-course tasting menu, carefully curated and inspired by flavours from around the world. The pace is slow, intimate, and considered, allowing you to fully appreciate the dining journey. The hospitality is thoughtful and designed to feel personal and attentive. So, if you’re after a night out that’s immersive, memorable, and high quality, Twenty Seats is your spot, and it really is a one-of-a-kind on the Perth scene.
Goreng Goreng
Goreng Goreng has been cooking up mixed Asian cuisine since 2005. They’re the kind of spot that puts just as much love into takeaway meals as they do their dine-in ones. On top of this, the chefs behind this restaurant have ensured their menu is just as inclusive for vegetarians as it is for meat-eaters. Next time you’re after something fresh and reliable, we’d recommend checking out these guys.
House of Pho
House of Pho is bringing the authentic taste of Vietnam to Mount Lawley. Known for its rich, slow-simmered broths, fresh herbs, and generous servings, you can always count on this restaurant to deliver comforting Vietnamese classics. Signature pho bowls showcase traditional flavours, while rice dishes, spring rolls, and other specialties round out the menu.
Testùn Bar
Bringing the charm of a neighbourhood Neo-Italo osteria to Perth, Testùn serves up a relaxed dining experience centred on good food, good wine, and great company. Co-owned by the Trequattrini family (Threecoins & Sons), the venue is open Wednesday to Sunday, pairing a warm, intimate atmosphere with a menu designed for lingering lunches, casual drinks, and long dinners.
Mack Daddy’s New York Slice
Bringing a playful slice of New York attitude to Mount Lawley, Mack Daddy’s New York Slice serves classic oversized American pizza that may just be the biggest and cheesiest in town. And of course, there’s plenty on the side too… think buffalo wings, mack n’ cheese, jalapeno bites, mozzarella sticks and more. All we’ll say is, make sure you go hungry.
Longlae Thai Cuisine
Tucked away down an unassuming street in Mount Lawley is Longlae Thai Cuisine, and it’s worth a try next time you’re on the hunt for chilli heat and strong flavours. This spot is lowkey, and that’s what we love. There’s no second-guessing where the attention is going because you know it’s all going straight into the food they’re serving up. Speaking of… think curries, stir-fries and soups, all done Thai homestyle.
Molly’s Irish Pub
On the hunt for the finest Guinness in town? Make a stop at Molly’s Irish Pub, and you likely won’t need to look any further. Built on Ireland’s renowned hospitality and unbeatable pub grub, this welcoming venue brings a touch of Dublin right to Beaufort Street. If you’re extra keen to experience the Irish way of life, head to Molly’s on a Sunday for a classic Sunday Roast with a side of warm Irish atmosphere.
The Beaufort
Unsurprisingly, The Beaufort precinct is a Beaufort Street locals’ go-to for wining and dining. With three unique venues under the one roof, there’s plenty here to keep the night going. The Beaufort itself is renowned for beer gardens and open-air spaces. Venture further inside, and you’ll find Lotus, a modern Southeast Asian restaurant that takes you on a sophisticated, share-style culinary journey through the region’s signature flavours. Tucked further in the venue’s depths is Cypher, a speakeasy with a secret entry that hides a quirky cocktail bar and one of Perth’s most extensive spirit lists.
The Queens
Serving Perth locals since the 1880s, you can’t really go wrong with The Queens Tavern. It’s one of Perth’s oldest and most popular spots, and for good reason. Inside you’ll find a restaurant, beer garden, and a bar, all of which still hold that original heritage feel and charm. The Queens is one of those places where the beers are great, the menu is extensive, and the hospitality is always warm.
Threecoins & Sons
House-made pasta, pinsa, and classic antipasti really are the way to anyone’s heart. This family-run Italian restaurant on Beaufort Street, Threecoins & Sons, is run by the Trequattrini family, who have undoubtedly left their mark on Italian dining in the Mount Lawley area. The menu takes a traditional approach, centred on classic dishes and supported by an impressive wine list.
Miss Potz
Did somebody say Southeast Asian tapas? Yeah, Miss Potz did. With its warm timber accents and contemporary design, this Mount Lawley spot combines relaxed dining with a stylish, inviting feel. The menu showcases bold, vibrant flavours, from beef rendang and banana-leaf barramundi to Balinese curry and lemongrass-grilled chicken. All made to share, of course.
Don Birria
Don Birria is a local favourite for street-style Mexican food, best known for its crispy quesabirria tacos with rich consommé, indulgent loaded fries and tangy house-made salsas. The menu leans into bold, comforting flavours and a casual, no-fuss take on traditional Mexican eats. Just be prepared to get your hands dirty.
Le Vivant
Le Vivant blends European charm, Mediterranean-inspired dishes and a standout wine list all within a warm, heritage setting in the heart of Highgate. Upstairs, you’ll find a cosy, character-filled space that can be booked for your next intimate celebration.
El Publico
If you’re all about Mexican food, then you’ll be all about El Publico. With a menu where modern meets traditional, they’ve got all the go to’s down pat. Think Baja fish tacos, chicken empanadas, ceviche tostadas, grilled queso panels, and a whole lot more. And of course, there’s plenty of mezcal and tequila to go around this cosy venue as well.
Mr Oro Sushi
After a light bite or a full Japanese foodie experience? Mr Oro Sushi delivers both. This casual dining spot stands out for its “make your own” section, where you can play chef and build custom sushi rolls and sushi salads. Beyond this, the menu features a selection of gyoza, donburi, and udon.
Hanami
Hanami is one of those neighbourhood gems locals love to keep to themselves. Tucked between a tiny hardware store and a chemist, this long-running Mount Lawley favourite dishes up impeccably fresh and flavoursome sashimi, sushi, and Japanese classics all within a casual and warm atmosphere.
Ischia
Authentic Italian has to be done well, and at Ischia it always is. If you’re craving a classic Italian meal where every bite has you feeling like you could be on the other side of the world… well, this is your place. Serving traditional dishes from the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples, you can feel the love in every bite at this family-owned restaurant.
Kubkao
A fusion of locally sourced ingredients and Thai culture, Kubkao brings a fresh twist on traditional Thai dining to the Perth scene. The menu features fragrant curries and wok-tossed house specialties. Tommasinos
A fresh slice of Italy in the heart of Mount Lawley, Tommasinos is home to Perth’s original pinsa. So, what’s pinsa, you might be thinking. It’s a lighter, crispier style of flatbread pizza that dates back to Ancient Rome, predating the modern pizza that we know and love today. This ancient Roman recipe has been reimagined with contemporary flavours and fresh ingredients. However, this isn’t all the menu has to offer, there’s also a range of starters and pastas to indulge in along with your new found favourite, the pinsa.
The Elford
If you love a pub special, you’ll love The Elford. Each week they rotate through their round-up of weekly specials, which include pizza day, steak day, schnitty day, wings day and a Sunday roast, so variety really is the spice of life here. Each of these is under $25.00, so your bank account will probably say thank you also. Besides this, the venue holds the same charm it did back in 1934 when the building’s Art Deco construction began. Pub deal with a side of heritage charm? Can’t go wrong.
Mame Japanese
With a thoughtful take on Japanese home-style cooking, the menu at Mame Japanese is centred around bringing traditional flavours to the forefront. Expect dishes such as tofu, onigiri, and carefully prepared Obanzai, a style of traditional Japanese home-cooked cuisine, in a restaurant that focuses on simplicity and technique.
Solo Pasta
Pasta served by the metre, anyone? That’s how they do it at Solo Pasta. First things first, you choose your pasta flavour, then select how many metres you’d like, and finally, your sauce. It’s a customisable dining experience that’s unique to come by, and rightfully so, rather raved about.
