We made this sandwich from their make your own sandwich bar with chicken schnitzel, tomato, lettuce, avocado, carrot, red onion and cheese and it only cost $9.00. It is a big meaty feed which should leave even the hungry satisfied.

Golden Bakery (Bakery)

Golden-BakeryGolden Bakery has been baking since 1988. A highly successful business in the city with lots of City workers frequenting for a quick bite to go and probably the most well-known bakery in Perth’s CBD. With catering services, fresh rolls made up, award winning pastries, pies and sweet treats this William St takeaway is a good value option for lunch. We managed to get a chicken schnitzel roll with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and carrot plus a small chips for $10.00.

Located near Brookfield place and outside St Martin’s Centre (44 St George’s Terrace) they offer quick, fresh and tasty meals dine in and takeaway. St Martin’s We got a chicken sudori with rice and salad for $9.50. All lunches here are priced $15.00 or less.

Taka’s Kitchen (Japanese)

Takas-KitchenTaka’s Kitchen is an iconic value packed Japanese eatery. Located at Barrack Street and in Shafto Lane (across the lane from Durty Nelly’s) it has a wide variety of Japanese cuisine from sashimi, rice dishes, noodle bowls and sushi. This lunch pictured below cost $17.50 – $8.00 for the Chicken Karaage and $9.50 for the Teriyaki Burgers. Each meal as you can see is served with Miso Soup, a salad, and a bowl of rice.

Hot Star Chicken (Taiwanese)

Hot-Star-ChickenHot Star large fried chicken touts itself as “Australia’s No. 1 Extra Large Chicken” and there is one claim that cannot be refuted – the extra-large size. The picture below shows what a piece of their chicken comes in at scaled alongside a 20c piece. The chicken is 100% chicken breast, not processed and additive and preservative free. It is also cooked to order. You can get spicy, or original – pictured below is half and half, the top half with the spice. We bought a large fried chicken piece for $8.90 and after consuming your hunger should be a thing of the past.

Toastface Grillah (Toasties & Coffee)

Ghostface once performed down Grand Lane on the back of a Ute to a crowd of avid fans of which Toastface now enjoys legions of. Their niche is simple – grilled cheese sandwiches and coffee. The sandwiches are grilled with cheddar, brie, blue, mozzarella, gruyere, emmental and gouda cheeses with eight choices of different flavours to match. We enjoyed a “Steaks Is High” – slow cooked beef with roasted capsicum ($9.00) and “Shroomie Shroomie” – mushrooms ($9.00) toastie, both coming in under $10.00. Their 3 Cheese (cheddar, gruyere and emmental) is the lowest priced at $7.00 to the top end at only $9.00!

Pictured below is their vegetarian hot dog – The “Chicago”. Although it has a sausage in it, it is made from vegetables and has a pork like taste – however it is 100% vegetarian. It comes with pickles, roasted peppers, tomatoes, onions, relish and mustard and costs $9.45. They have six vegetarian burgers and six vegetarian hot dogs to choose from that all come in under $10.00

Le-VietnamLe Vietnam offer fresh Bánh Mì rolls ranging from traditional, hianese chicken, meatball Bánh Mì, vegetarian Bánh Mì – the list rolls on. Very busy and popular, they serve cheap coffee as well.

We bought the below Bánh Mì rolls which are $10.00 each. They are incredibly fresh, can be served with chilli, served on a crunchy roll and come from Lee and his friendly well serviced team.

ChillizChilliz offers a decent range of Malaysian style meals that are inexpensive and tasty. Freshly cooked out the back of the William St premises, they come in a large two level container. The top level has the meat and condiments/salad and the bottom the steamed rice. At most meals costing $6.00 this has to be the front runner for the best valued lunch available in the Perth CBD.

Chilliz-Honey-Chicken

Pictured below is the honey chicken and then the Nasi Lamek chicken with rice. Both of these dishes were $12.00, combined! That makes lunch an inexpensive option and at $6.00 is even available incredibly to dine in. On Mondays they do a special for $7.50 that gives you the meal, a drink and a dessert.
