Barbeque Hotspot Ribs Lane Has Opened Up Shop In Subiaco

Perth’s barbeque haven, Ribs Lane, raises the bar with bigger flavours, retro vibes, and the ultimate pizza challenge.

Perth’s food scene just got saucier with the opening of Ribs Lane’s second venue in the heart of Subiaco. Synonymous with its slow-cooked, barbeque ribs, and smile-inducing flavours, Ribs Lane Subiaco delivers a dining experience packed with fun and retro backyard vibes.

Building on the success of its Mount Lawley location, Ribs Lane Subiaco has turned up the heat with an even more tempting offering. Woodfired pizzas are now on the menu, alongside finger-licking wings smothered in housemade sauces, and an irresistible selection of shareable small plates. Think creamy burrata, delicate prosciutto crudo, and woodfired bread straight from the oven. But it doesn’t stop there, Nutella, Biscoff, and raspberry chocolate dessert pizzas are on the list of sweet treats.

“Subiaco has given us the chance to take everything people already love about Ribs Lane and turn it up a notch. We’ve created a space where locals can settle in, enjoy a relaxed meal, and savour an experience that’s all about great food, fun, and memories,” General Manager of Ribs Lane Group, Hardik Pokiya said.

At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Thanalachume Pane, a Perth culinary wiz, specialising in grill and meat dishes, with more than 20 years of experience. Pane’s passion for flavour and quality shines through every plate, from the fall-off-the-bone ribs to the sauces made from scratch.

The 110-seat venue, complete with indoor and pet-friendly alfresco dining, oozes the warmth of a laid-back, retro backyard. Best enjoyed with a drink while watching the tossing of pizzas and crafting of desserts in the open kitchen.

True to its mission of being a family-friendly destination, Ribs Lane caters to families looking for an affordable dining experience, where a delicious meal for the whole crew can easily stay under $100.00. This focus on value pairs perfectly with its relaxed atmosphere, ensuring that every guest feels right at home.

Adding to the excitement is the Metre Maniacs Challenge, where pizza enthusiasts can take on the ultimate foodie showdown: devouring one metre of pizza in just 30 minutes. Winners walk away with serious bragging rights and one free meal (capped at $120.00 per meal) a month for a year at any Ribs Lane location.

“It’s a challenge that brings fun and flavour together,” Pokiya said.

Ribs Lane Subiaco isn’t just about big and bold barbeque flavours — it’s also about giving back to the people who make the community stronger. As a thank you to Perth’s healthcare workers, Ribs Lane offers 5% off the bill, all day, every day.

Families haven’t been forgotten either. At Ribs Lane, kids eat free every Sunday, turning a weekend outing into an affordable, stress-free family feast. Add a frosty pint to the mix and you have the perfect recipe for relaxation, with Swan Draught pouring for just $8.90.

“We wanted to create a space where everyone feels welcome — from families sharing Sunday lunch to hardworking locals looking for a place to unwind without splashing too much cash.”

And this is just the beginning. With Project 2025 already in motion, Ribs Lane plans to open three more venues across Perth’s most popular dining strips.

“Perth has embraced Ribs Lane in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Subiaco is our next chapter, but there’s so much more to come.”
