2. North Street Store
Cottesloe locals are a lucky bunch, considering they’ve got North Street Store cooking up some of the best cinnamon buns and hot bread right on their doorstep.
The store itself takes us back to the old corner deli times and is just a short drive down the road from the iconic Cottesloe coastline. The absolute must-tries here include their famous cinnamon buns and their toasted porchetta sandwiches.

Their classic sourdough loaf is an award winner combining the perfect tasty crust with a soft, open crumb inside. 7. Grain Bakery
A small, family-run bakery in Lathlain, Grain Bakery is one to watch.
The fact that the owners use old family-owned recipes says just about enough for the quality of food you’ll get. The apple, cinnamon, and walnut sourdough is an absolute treat as is all their sourdough on the menu.
You’ll be swimming in tasty pastry treats here with a whole range of eclairs, tarts, and their mouthwatering choc orange cruffin (a croissant cross muffin hybrid). They’ve also got a bolognese pie if sweet isn’t your style along with a smokey bacon croissant- basically, they have it all.

Sugar & Nice took the cake world by storm with their incredible, picture-perfect creations that put them on the map for good.
But cakes aren’t the only thing they do well, they’ve got delish cronuts on the menu along with cookies, cupcakes, and brownies. You’ll be riding on a sugar high for hours after you get your hands on this place.

9. Bread In Common
Looking for good bread… and I mean really good bread? If you haven’t tried Bread In Common’s wood-fired, organic bread, you can’t call yourself a real bread lover.
Worth a trip to Freo to tick off this one on our best bakeries in Perth list, their artisanal bread is prepared in volcanic-rock ovens and is crusty, fluffy, and oh-so-good. Grab some of their sweet garlic butter to spread on top, and you’ve got yourself the perfect slice.

10. The Honeycake
Since we’re on the topic of sweet treats, we just couldn’t finish without giving The Honeycake a mention. If you haven’t tried it before, thank us later.
After making its appearance on the foodie scene in 2013 as a market stall, they’ve now gained a cult following as a dessert destination. The famous cake is a combination of honey-flavoured layers and creamy caramel topped with walnuts and honeycake dust, and boy is it a winner.
