Want to know where to find the best Nasi Goreng in Perth? We have created the best Indonesian restaurants in Perth list just for you.

Hands up who else is missing their annual trip(s) to Indonesia?

While life isn’t quite what it used to be on the travel front (and we’re eagerly awaiting a tourism bubble to open between Perth and Bali), we are super fortunate to have some absolutely incredible Indonesian restaurants in Perth.

Crack a Bintang, or at least wear the singlet that has the moniker printed on it, and feast away.

Bintang Cafe

11/910 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park WA 6101

With a name like Bintang Cafe it should definitely be one of the best Indonesian restaurants in Perth.

With breakfast, lunch and dinner options on offer, it’s easy to find an Indonesian delight that will win your heart at Bintang Café.

Find them in East Victoria Park where they sling out home-style dishes such as madura style satay, deep-fried beef tripe and nasi kuning komplit.

Batavia Corner

912 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park WA 6101

Family-owned East Victoria Park’s Batavia Corner has proven itself to be a long-standing go to destination for Indonesian eats.

Since 1998 they’ve created a homely and welcoming diner that serves lunch and dinner 7-days a week. The extensive menu features all the standard favourites like mee goreng and nasi goreng, as well as crowd-pleasers like gado gado and excellent chicken centric dishes.

Fluffy Lamb

Fremantle Market, Corner Parry Street and William Street, Fremantle WA 6160

Cute name, tiny market stall and internationally awarded. Fluffy Lamb definitely punches hard, and we’re utterly impressed by what they bring to the table.

Named one of the top Indonesian restaurants in the world by Indonesia’s Tourism Ministry, this Fremantle Market stand is a must-try for those who haven’t yet discovered its charm. The menu is simple: meats cooked over charcoal and served with peanut sauce and rice (one of the rice options flavoured with bone-marrow!). It doesn’t get much better than this.

Ah Beng Kopitiam

8/68 Langford Ave, Langford WA 6147

House-made noodles, rocking sambal and a great selection of both Indonesian and Malaysian Chinese food: that’s the magic of Ah Beng Kopitiam.

The roti paratha is flaky, the laksa swimming in flavour. The ikan bakar (whole grilled fish) has been practiced to perfection, and just the dish to grace a share table of food when visiting this Langford establishment.

Tempayan

35 Hampden Rd, Nedlands WA 6009

Nedland’s Tempayan Indonesian restaurant is a casual and contemporary setting, that has tackled familiar flavours in a whole new way.

Javanese grilled beef ribs, known as IGA bakar, are truly glorious, as is the mie udang terasi (balacan prawn noodle). The menu’s spices have been selected specifically to really honour the regional tastes of dishes. For something different, ask the team about their Indonesian high tea or manual brew coffee. Yum!

Manise Cafe

449 William St, Perth WA 6000

Since opening its doors in 2001, Manise Café has brought the rich flavours of Indonesia to Northbridge. What makes them stand out amongst the pack and part of our best Indonesian restaurants in Perth list is they really understand that sambals are the cornerstone of the cuisine, which they make in-house so that every meal here has a real palate kickstarter.

For the vegetarians out there, the tempeh is excellent here – and has truly traditional roots embedded in each bite. Or if you’re a total carnivore, we highly recommend the sate ayam (chicken satay) which is moreish and transports you overseas with one bite.

Monggo Restaurant

683C Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050

Find Indonesian roadside favourites and household wonders that will utterly sate you at the popular Mount Lawley eatery, Monggo Restaurant.

It’s a refreshing difference to other Indonesian offerings in Perth thanks to the likes of their crispy soft shell crab on acar, their lumpia basah bogo (vegetables wrapped in lumpia) and duck martabak (duck in pastry). Your tastebuds will be delighted, and you’ll find yourself returning over and over again.

Warung Nasi Bali

2/69 Belmont Rd, Kenwick WA 6107

Say the word ‘Bali’ and if you’re anything like us you’ll instantly picture yourself there enjoying local goodies, a cold beer and that weirdly addictive sticky humidity. While we can’t travel to our local tourist go-to right now, we can get our fix at Warung Nasi Bali.

The dishes are so authentic, well priced and just plain wonderful if we’re being honest. Visit this Kenwich spot and enjoy their nasi campur (braised chicken with rice) or nasi babi guling (roasted crispy pork skin with rice), followed by bubur ketan kolak pisang (sticky black rice with banana cassava). If this isn’t as close as you can get to being over there, we don’t know what is.

Sedap Place

876 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park WA 6101

When the name of a restaurant literally translates to ‘delicious’, you’d hope that’s exactly what it is. While technically Malaysian, the menu has a strong crossover into Indonesian favourites and is needed to make our best Indonesian restaurants in Perth list.

After all, the popularity of Victoria Park’s Sedap Place has risen quickly thanks to their tasty menu offerings, and generous portion sizes. Special shout out to their nasi lemak 2 share, which comes with fragrant coconut rice, a flavour bomb sambal and four different dishes to accompany (highly recommend the fried chicken and beef rendang). Oh and don’t forget the roti – that itself is an absolute must-order.
