Gage Roads huge brewery is set to open its doors in Fremantle next week.

WA’s biggest brewer finally has its own venue, and it opens its doors next week.

Gage Roads is joining the already formidable force of Freo’s craft beer scene with their sleek new 1,500-capacity brewpub welcoming beer enthusiasts when they open on January 20th.

They’re taking up residence in Victoria Quay’s A Shed waterside after giving it a serious revamp to reveal a microbrewery, restaurant and bar. It will even overlook the actual Gage Roads – the shipping lane between Fremantle and Rottnest Island that inspired the name.

What To Expect at Gage Roads Brewery

First off, the place is going to be massive – 1,500 people massive.

You’ll find signposts pointing you to a lounge, main bar, front yard, dining room, deck etc.

You can expect a venue for the perfect summer hangs, each section screams laidback Aussie beach vibes with sunny sessions in their front yard, sports on TV in the lounge or a good old dinner with mates in the dining room- and of course, fresh beer aplenty.

All your pints will be filled with beer from tank to tap that’s brewed directly on-site by head brewer Simone Clements and the team in a 25-hectolitre 16-tank brew kit.

All your favourites will join the party plus some rotating limited releases and brews from smaller WA breweries.

Of course, it’s not all about beer, non-beer folk need not miss out, as Gage Road Brewery will also be putting on some WA wines and spirits.

They’ll be kicking off their brewery exclusives with Hazy As Tropical Hazy Pale Ale and Off the Wharf Red IIPA, with Tropic Wonder Pineapple Mango Sour set to be tapped in early February.

The food is set to perfectly match the atmosphere with a menu featuring WA produce and ingredients inspired by the sea.

It will include share plates to nibble at and larger feed-me meals like Single Fin battered local fish and chips, Harvey beef striploin and wood-fired pizzas.

Top it all off with local artists colourful murals decorating the walls and a retail store with everything from merch to second-hand surfboards.

Famous among the beer brewing community, Gage Roads are proudly Australian and therefore all about sun, sand and a beer in hand.

They’ve been brewing their range of craft beers for 15 years with a strong selection of favourites like their Single Finn summer ale, Pipe Dreams lager and Hello Sunshine Cider.
