Froth Town has a lineup of exclusive festival release brews you have to try this year

Perth’s legendary beer, booze, and food festival is back for 2022, showcasing 75+ local and international breweries alongside an epic range of food.

Aside from enjoying the carnival rides, trying your hand at a game of giant beer pong, jumping around to live music, or chowing down on a smorgasbord of local food, festival-goers will also be able to get their hands on some weird, whacky and wonderful limited edition festival releases.

Each year, the challenge is put out to brewers to create a unique festival release exclusive to Froth Town. Past years have seen flavourful combos like a choc mint ice cream porter and raspberry jalapeno saison, wow keen brew hunters, and this year’s options look to be just as delightfully crazy.

Meet the 2022 Festival Release lineup:

Phubba Bubba | Phat Brew Club

Strawberry Bubblegum Sour

If a sour is usually your thing, the Phubba Bubba will rock your world and take you back to simpler childhood days.

It’s a blend of sweet and sour with punchy flavours of strawberry bubblegum to really set your tastebuds alight and bring on the nostalgia. It’s really just a whole heap of fun, and we’d expect nothing less from these guys.

Happy Birthday Mister Walrus | Campus Brewing Co.

Imperial Birthday Cake Stout

Ever wondered what a Black Forrest cake might taste like if you could drink it? Well, wonder no more.

Campus Brewing Co. have channelled their inner Willy Wonka and come up with this absolute doozy – a pastry stout based on Black Forrest cake with some cherries, cacao nibbs, and tiny cakes sprinkled in.

With this brew, you can have your cake and drink it too.

Green Man | Rocky Ridge Brewing Co.

All Citra Hopped DDH IIPA

Rocky Ridge Brewing Co. has just come off the back of snagging Champion Large Brewery and Champion Beer at the Perth Royal Food Awards, so we’re super excited to get a taste of this year’s release.

In an evolution of the Day Man single hop series, Green Man is a huge hop profile complimented by a smooth and robust body. There’s no doubt this one is joining our list of must-tries on the day.

Hazelnut Affogato Ice Cream Stout | Black Brewing Co.

Hazelnut Affogato Icecream Stout

This sweet creation will certainly provide all the warm fuzzies to fight the winter chill.

Think of it as what you’d get if you combined three of life’s greatest pleasures: coffee, beer, and chocolate. It’s the 5th addition to the ice cream beer collab with Kuld Creamery, with hazelnut, coffee, and chocolate milk stout flavours to your lips.

We’d recommend finishing off with this one to put a nice end cap on your day.

Carnival Passionfruit Rice Lager | Nowhereman Brewing Co.

Passionfruit Rice Lager

A little bit of sparkle and a whole lotta zing.

Following on from last year’s Spice Girls themed sour and Spice Girls Drag Show, 2022 will see another spectacular pop-up performance paired with this fun and fab festival release. It uses 60kg of passionfruit to pack a punch into the crisp, refreshing AF rice lager base.

Come for the flips, tricks, and old fashioned mischief packed entertainment, stay for the beer.
