Ah, Cottesloe. One of our absolute faves when it comes to laidback, beachy vibes and unbeatable coastal views — there’s a reason why it’s one of the most popular beaches in Perth.
Aside from the views, they’ve got some killer cafes dotted about where you can get your fresh morning fix as you soak in the salty breeze and sunshine. Think fresh and organic, sweet cinnamon scrolls, 10/10 coffee hits and colourful Asian fusion dishes. Here’s a round-up of the best cafés in Cottesloe.
Daisies
For fresh, healthy eats, Daisies is a Cottesloe icon worthy of a gander. From humble origins as a corner delicatessen to one of Perth’s fave corner cafes, these guys know what they’re doing. It’s the ultimate laidback — doggo friendly — spot to soak up some sunshine under the pine trees as you get your hands on baked goods, burgers, and their famous smashed avo toast with feta, chilli dukkah and house-made chilli jam.
Il Lido
Get ready for a carb overload, because Il Lido is serving up some insanely good Italian eats while you look out over the ocean. Easily one of the best cafés in Cottesloe, they’re passionate about everything pasta, wine, coffee and cheese, which is great because so are we! Serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, their dishes are absolutely magnifico — we can’t get enough. They also have a banging wine list and tasty cocktails for a sunset sip.
North Street Store
If you haven’t jumped on the craze of the cinnamon scrolls yet, boy you’re missing out! Fluffy, sweet and sticky, these cinny scrolls are famous for good reason. North Street Store also makes a mean cup of coffee to pair, and you can help yourself to their cabinet of rolls and sweets, plus fresh-made toasties and burgers. It’s technically not a café, but we’re counting it because it’s that good.
Vans
A local hotspot, Vans has been serving up an eclectic menu and providing a caffeine fix for the people of Cottesloe for many years. The modern, bright atmosphere will make you feel right at home as you choose from blue swimmer crab cakes, buttermilk pancakes, pan-fried gnocchi, san choy bao or a Vans fry-up with fried bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns.
Eric Chamberlain
Joining the lineup of expert coffee makers in Cott, Eric Chamberlain is a sweet little stop for some breakfast delights and a cuppa. The outside patio is dog-friendly so you can perch up after a morning walk and try out their homemade nasi goreng or smashed avo on organic sourdough.
Cimbalino
While we’re on the topic of amazing coffee, we’ve got to give Cimbalino a mention. Sitting on Napoleon Street, they do up a pretty good caffeine fix while you dig into their breakfast menu with options like bruschetta and french toast, or spice it up with the huevos rancheros — spicy tomato sauce, chorizo, baked egg, Persian feta, and ciabatta.
John Street Café
Adding a pop of blue to the streets of Cottesloe, John Street Café is a breezy, colourful little stop under the pines. They do all-day breakfast and light lunch, with a simple but tasty menu. We love the prosciutto poached eggs and benedict with the famous hollandaise sauce.
Little Sup Café
For surfy vibes and delicious coffee, Little Sup is your guy. It’s the perfect beachside café to roll on into after a salty early morning swim. They open their doors from 6:00 am every day so all of you early birds can start your day off right. Their smooth brew will go down a treat, topped off with homemade pastries, and muffins while you chill out with the locals catching a wave or two.
