This month Plateful Perth returns to the City of Perth for its second year. As such, we’re unofficially calling August wine and dine month and we’re helping you out by curating our picks for the best places to go.
The only thing you need to decide is who are you wining and dining with?
Brendan Pratt’s Greatest Hits: An Evening at Fleur — Already Sold Out
This one sold out fast and for good reason. Firstly, it’s hosted at Fleur. Secondly, Chef Brendan Pratt is celebrating 20 years on the pans by putting together some of his greatest hits. It’ll be five courses of beautifully crafted and balanced dishes, each paired perfectly with a glass of vino.
Hopefully, they open up a second night because we want tickets!

Where: Fleur
When: August 1st
Price: $220.00 per person or $280.00 per person with wine pairing
Cabernet & The Carnivore
This one is selling out fast and having been close enough to touch it, we know that it’s going to be a great night out. Intimate. Educational. Backed by an oenophile who’ll talk about wine for hours on end. You can see why we’re looking forward to it.
You’ll get a generous tasting board of different cuts of beef — grilled to perfection over an open flame — along with a flight of five wines, chosen to compliment each cut. It puts the wine back in wine and dine so book into this one while you still can.

Where: Mayfair Lane
When: August 7th (now sold out) and August 21st
Price: $149.00 per person
Chef Hosted Dining
If you haven’t been to Perth’s newest high-end steak house, here’s your chance to do it in style. Call it a date night; call it wining and dining; call it culinary connoisseur heaven. If you love food and wine, this one is simply a must.
You’ve got wine from Leeuwin Estate — one of our favourite West Australian wineries — and you have a six-course dinner with Chef Sean Hall walking you through the ethos and inspiration behind each course. It’s a one-off menu and experience that will never be available again. So, who are you taking with you?

Where: 6HEAD
When: August 20th
Price: $275.00 per person
The Chairman’s Champagne Maison
If you Google “the world’s best Champagne events,” this one will come up with a flashing neon sign next to it that says “this IS the Plateful Perth event you’re looking for”.
Usually when a venue puts on a wine dinner, they pair the wine with the food. This one is the opposite. It pairs the food — Apple Daily’s Asian Fusion — with exquisite Champagne that you’ll likely never get anywhere else.

Where: Apple Daily at Print Hall
When: August 24th
Price: $425.00 per person
Garum presents Fuoco
This one had us at Guy Grossi. If you’ve read any of our articles that talk about the best Italian food in Perth, you’ll have noticed that Garum is always included. This event takes that high standard for pillowy pasta goodness and takes it up a notch with rustic and full-bodied Roman flavours meticulously matched with Voyager Estate wines.

Where: Garum
When: August 22nd
Price: $198.00 per person
Chef’s Kitchen Table
Fraser’s Restaurant is an institution; nestled in the lush surroundings of Kings Park and having been widely considered one of the best in the west for some 30 years.
This Plateful Perth offering is the backstage concert pass. A rare look behind the curtain as you watch Fraser’s Executive Chef work some magic, taking you on a journey into the soul of West Australian cuisine.

Where: Fraser’s Restaurant
When: August 22nd
Price: $350.00 per person
An Evening with Leeuwin Estate
You know how much we love Leeuwin Estate wines when we feature them twice in the one article. We’d actually feature them at every dinner event, if we could.
If you weren’t already convinced, James St. Bar + Kitchen is hosting a five-course dinner in their Executive Lounge. Each course will be paired with a premium Leeuwin Estate wine, so what more could you want?

Where: James St. Bar + Kitchen
When: August 30th
Price: $185.00 per person
Moss Wood presents Wagyu & Wine
One of our favourite Perth restaurants paired with one of our favourite Margaret River wineries. Expect five courses of Wagyu and the finest Moss Wood wines, all while being guided on a culinary journey by Moss Wood vineyard’s Hugh and Tristan Mugford. It’s a foodie event that will be hard to say no to. We won’t be able to resist. If only we could figure out a way to go twice?

Where: Samuels On Mill
When: August 24th
Price: $199.00 per person
QT Odyssey: A Progressive Dinner
So many of our favourite venues, all on the one page. QT Rooftop is one of the best rooftop bars in Perth and Santini Grill is one of the all-time greats. Trust us, we’ve done our research.
This is a one-off experience that will impress even the harshest of critics. You’ll start your evening on the 18th floor Rooftop at QT, with a refreshing Spitz and entrée in hand as you admire the glistening stars in the early evening darkness. Then you’ll descend into Santini Grill for a feast of their signature dishes. And you’ll finish your night with a traditional dessert in the moody ambiance of one of Perth’s best kept secrets.

Where: QT Perth
When: Monday to Saturday
Price: $99.00 per person

You’ll have four excuses to visit Miss Mi this Plateful Perth season as each week they’re putting on a different special menu that will transport you through the cuisines of South East Asia. We’re talking about the best of the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Thailand.
If you need any more convincing, Miss Mi was also named one of the 2024 WA Good Food Guide Top 100 Restaurants.
