Once a Prohibition-era-inspired jazz bar, Zypher Lounge has been reimagined as a stylish Japanese fusion lounge, promising an unparalleled blend of dining, drinks, and entertainment in the heart of Perth.
Set to officially open its doors to the public on Saturday, December 14th, Zypher Lounge is poised to fill a unique gap in Perth’s nightlife scene. It’s a one-stop shop concept designed to seamlessly transition guests from an exceptional dining experience to late-night revelry, all under one roof.
Guests can look forward to an inventive menu of Asian fusion delights curated by acclaimed Chef Evan Bang. Born on Ganghwa Island and raised in Seoul, Bang brings a wealth of experience. From mastering the art of Japanese cuisine in his seven years at Nobu Perth to wowing diners with his signature fire shows and creative flair, to opening and operating his restaurant, Kukan Izakaya for five years.
Menu fuses the modern with the traditional
Zypher’s menu will combine traditional Japanese flavours with modern twists, setting a new standard for fusion cuisine.
The menu highlights include indulgent sashimi platters, delicate wagyu carpaccio pizza, succulent pork belly, flavourful kushiyaki skewers, and premium Japanese A5 Wagyu Striploin, alongside an array of crispy assorted tempura. For dessert, guests can expect a variety of exquisite gelato flavours.
Cocktail menu inspired by Tokyo’s vibrant districts
Complementing the fare, the drinks menu will feature an extensive selection of fine wines, premium spirits, Japanese whiskies, and Sake. While innovative creations such as Yuzu Cello Spritz, Sake Bomb, and the Zypher Martini grace the cocktail menu — meticulously divided into four sections, each inspired by the unique charm of Tokyo’s vibrant districts.
Zypher Lounge will transform as the night progresses, starting with live entertainment and a sophisticated dining atmosphere, and evolving into an energetic lounge with DJ sets from 9:00 pm to midnight every Friday and Saturday. Food will also be available until closing, ensuring guests can delight in a late-night bite alongside their favourite drinks.

“We wanted to bring something truly unique to Perth. When we look at other cities, we see venues that offer everything in one place: great food, amazing drinks, and a vibe that keeps you coming back,” co-owner Elise Fotheringhame said.
“With Zypher Lounge, we’ve created that space for Perth, where you can start your night with exceptional dining and end it with an unforgettable party,” co-owner Cathie Horvat said.
Zypher Lounge will be open from 5:00 pm to 12:00 am every Wednesday and Thursday and 3:00 pm to 12:00 am every Friday and Saturday.
