Get ready, Perth — Corteo is staying a little longer.
Cirque du Soleil has confirmed that its wildly popular production Corteo will now run for six extra performances at RAC Arena, following strong demand for its first three shows. The additional shows mean more West Aussies can watch the acrobatic wonder, theatrical whimsy, and spellbinding staging of a show that’s captivated over 12 million people across 30 countries.
The extended season now includes 10 performances across two jam-packed weekends from August 8 to 17. New dates include extra evening and matinee performances, ensuring more flexibility for fans eager to be transported into the poetic and playful world of Corteo.
A joyous parade between heaven and Earth
Corteo — meaning “cortege” in Italian — is a fantastical imagining of a clown’s own funeral procession, blending the drama of theatre with the breathless spectacle of Cirque’s iconic acrobatics. Directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, the show is unique in both concept and staging.
In a Cirque du Soleil first, the production features a two-sided stage, with the audience facing each other, offering not only a mesmerising perspective of the show but a rare performer’s-eye view of the crowd.
Expect to see soaring aerial acts, mischievous clowns, angelic imagery, live musicians, and a tapestry of beautifully aged costumes — over 175 different looks in total, with 2,500 pieces of costume travelling on tour.
