In My Bloody It Runs NAIDOC 2026

Ten-year-old Dujuan is a child-healer, a hunter and a multilingual Arrernte and Garrwa boy with a deep understanding of culture, family and Country. Despite his intelligence, he is struggling within the western education system and facing increasing attention from welfare and police.

Filmed over three and a half years in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), Sandy Bore Homeland and Borroloola, In My Blood It Runs offers a portrait of a young boy trying to balance two worlds while imagining a hopeful future for himself.

Created through close collaboration with Dujuan’s family, community and Arrernte advisors, the documentary highlights the importance of culture, self-determination and First Nations voices in shaping stories and futures.
