So you’ve made it through the seemingly endless school holidays? If you’re anything like me, you’re likely quietly congratulating yourself while also wondering how you’re going to fill the time.

By this stage, a treat, a reward is in order.  For all concerned.

How about a night away?  Or a couple of nights?  A mini getaway with the family.

Not everyone can pick up and head interstate or overseas, and that’s fine because you really don’t need to. We have plenty going on in our own back yard.

And while most may automatically assume “oh you mean down South / up North / Rotto / camping” – all good options – but, no.

I’m talking no cut lunch required, no full tank of pricey fuel, I’m talking the Perth CBD.

Here are just a few family-friendly CBD stays to break up the school holidays monotony:

Pan Pacific Perth

panpacific

For those who are tossing up between hitting Adventure World to run the kids (and big kids) ragged on the water slides for a day, versus enjoying a night out in a hotel – you can do both, with the Adventure World Family Fun Package.

Choose your preferred room type, and get two flexi passes to Adventure World (kids under 4 are free).

Includes buffet breakfast for all.  Plus, kids eat free when an accompanying adult purchases a meal.

That’s breakfast and dinner covered.  The kids are practically free!

Novotel Perth Langley

novotel

Novotel has a global family-friendly policy where up to 2 children under 16 years of age stay free (existing bedding only), including breakfast.

Coupled with complimentary late checkout to 5pm on Sunday’s, means you and your kids can enjoy the city all day before heading home.

For the younger kids, there’s the Kapla Corner children’s’ play area in the hotel, and Nickelodeon channel in the rooms.

Whether you’re trying to enjoy a drink, a meal, or some quiet time in your room – the little kids are covered.

Check out their We Are Family special (http://novotelperthlangley.com.au/we-are-family.html)

It includes a Standard room with 2 double beds, all of the above inclusions, plus a kids welcome gift.

From $149 per night, it’s one of the most affordable options for a quick family break in the CBD.

Holiday Inn Perth City Centre

HolidayInn

I’m a Holiday Inn fan because of their Kids Stay and Eat Free policy.

While I haven’t stayed at Perth’s own Holiday Inn, I can vouch for the policy via stays at a number of other Holiday Inn resorts.

Up to two children under 18 stay free (many hotels cut off the free-kids offers at 12, 16 at most) using existing bedding.

Breakfast is free, and if Mum and Dad order lunch or dinner, kids eat free.

This is a great budget-friendly option, if you’re trying to keep the cost of your city break to a minimum.

MountsBay

If you prefer to have space for your family to spread out, then this is for you.

There’s a restaurant within the property that offers charge-back facilities and room service (limited hours).

Adina Apartments Hotel Perth

adina

Family friendly, central location.  In addition to the space that an apartment hotel affords, Adina also offers a toy box and kids pack on request.

Wifi is included for the big kids.  There’s a heated outdoor pool, complete with BBQ area.

If you’re not keen on cooking, there are a few local restaurants offering charge-back facilities, and room service is available (limited hours).
