Perth Glory has advanced to round 16 in the FFA Cup after beating Newcastle in a thrilling penalty shootout victory.
Kenny Lowe was one happy coach as Glory’s new recruit Gyorgy Sandor converted the match-winning goal in the 4-3 win on Tuesday.
Scores were locked at full-time 1-1 after 90 minutes, and then locked again at 2-2 at the end of time on.
Glory will now travel to Brisbane to take on the Lions FC in the FFA Cup last 16.
Lowe is hoping that in Wednesdays draw they will finally get a home game after numerous trips over East in last season’s FFA Cup.
