Two subscription giants combine.

Foxtel and Netflix will now be in one place with the best shows from Foxtel and Netflix now side-by-side allowing users to watch both entertainment libraries without dropping the remote control.

Netflix shows will be delivered through Foxtel set-top boxes and will begin appearing inside some devices as soon as today.

Of course, Netflix won’t come free to all Foxtel viewers, however, Foxtel is offering 6 months of Netflix free for Foxtel subscribers who take up a new $58 per month offer on a 12-month contract. Your Netflix subscription fee would then be on top of that after 6 months.

While this is a potential lifeline for Foxtel as subscriptions and profits have been trending in the wrong direction – this is also a big win for Netflix.

Netflix now gains access to 1.1 million Foxtel iQ3 and iQ4 set-top boxes Australia-wide. Some may have been put off from Netflix being able to only view shows on laptops/tablets instead of on the TV. Now Netflix will become even more easily accessible to the masses in Australia through one box and one remote.

With Disney+ Australia set to be in market later in 2019 early 2020, this partnership could prove valuable for both companies.

Let the binging begin!
