Need to spend some focused time on yourself? Here’s where to do it within the City of Vincent bounds.

Self-care has never been more spoken about, and embraced, than it is now. Taking a little time for yourself – be it a spot of meditation, a class at the gym, or some time in the salon – is important to recentre and recharge. If you’re looking for somewhere help you recharge and feel fab, check out one of these spots in Mount Hawthorn, Leederville, and beyond.

As Tom Haverford and Meagle would say, “treat yo’ self!”.

P.S. It’s now easier than ever to spend a few hours pampering yourself. Easy Park is available throughout Vincent, and the first hour of parking is free.

Trenz Hair

30 Angove St, North Perth WA 6006

Smack bang in the middle of the trendy Angove Street strip, Trenz Hair has a prime location. If you’re not precious about your mid-hair-makeover appearance, you can make the most of their central location and browse the nearby boutiques while you’re waiting for your colour to develop. If you’d rather not, Trenz is a lovely place to sit back, relax, and flick through a magazine or two.

Greenhaus Studio

580 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley WA 6050

There’s yoga studios, and then there’s the newly opened Greenhaus studio.

Part yoga space, part retail store, and part sauna, this studio is a one stop shop for all things wellness. In the retail space, you can pick up everything from workout wear and green juices, to crystals and house plants. If you’re there for the studio side of things, book in for a yin, ashtanga or vinyasa class. Or, save your class pass for something special during their Thursday workshop timeslot. The offering in this slot changes weekly, and could be anything from sound healing, to a full moon workshop.

The Barber Shop Leederville

2/224 Carr Pl, Leederville WA 6007

Step through the door of The Barber Shop Leederville, and you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time.

This barbershop is a remnant of times past, but in the best possible way. There’s wallpaper that wouldn’t look amiss in nan’s house, mismatched, vintage barber chairs, and hair products you could have sworn your pop kept stockpiled in the bathroom vanity. It might not sound it, but it all works so darn well together.

The only thing not of the same vintage as the chairs and wallpaper, is the clientele, and the super cool, all male team that’ll be cutting your hair and trimming your beard. Some of the best in the game, these guys will have you looking sharp, and feeling good, in no time. It’s also worth noting that they’re super dog friendly, so your pup can hang out inside with you while you get tended to.

Unique Beauty & Style

134 Brisbane St, Perth WA 6000

Hair? Check. Nails? Check. Facials? Check. There’s nothing that Unique Beauty and Style, on the corner of Brisbane St and William St, don’t do.

The front half of the salon is dedicated to hair and nails, while the back half of the salon is where all the beauty treatments happen. You could spend an entire day here, getting your hair done, nails painted, eyebrows waxed, body massaged, and face pampered. It really is a one stop shop for all things beauty.

If you want to take it one step further, they even offer hair extension services, a barber, and makeup application.

HeadLiners

4/226 Oxford St, Leederville WA 6007

Treat yourself to a ‘me’ day with a full hair pamper session at HeadLiners. You’ll fall in love with this light, bright salon not only for it’s prime location, but for their #thoughtfulhairdressing ethos too. They’ve carefully selected the magazines in the salon, taste-tested their way through litres of coffee to select the best beans for their machine, and trialled umpteen different brands to end up with the most beautiful product range for your hair, R+Co. Not only is it great for your hair, but the super pretty branding looks fab in your bathroom too.

If you’re after understated luxe, HeadLiners is it.

Limon Shop

6/226 Oxford St, Leederville WA 6007

If it’s a beauty product that falls within the natural or organic category, you’ll find it at Limon. Right next door to their day spa, Limon Shop is an outlet for all the delicious ‘pure’ products used during treatments, and more. Liked that oil they used in your massage, or the moisturiser they used in your facial? Head next door to find it.

As well as a great range of natural beauty products, makeup, and even nail polishes, Limon stocks eco-friendly accessories (think bamboo straws and toothbrushes), and a great range of thoughtful gift packs. There’s even single ingredients for you to get your DIY product making on with. Pick up any combination of salt flakes, base oils, powders, and waxes, and get to creating your own sumptuous products at home.

Suat & Co Hair Studio

2/401-403 Oxford St, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016

It’s a given that cuts and colours at Suat & Co are fab. But, the in-chair service at this Mount Hawthorn salon is a treat in itself.

Any salon that serves up a free Tim Tam while you wait, is a salon worth knowing. But that’s not all they serve up. There’s an extensive list of beverages to choose from, with the Turkish apple tea the star of the show. Sweet and fruity, you’re going to want your hair to take hours to do, just so you can sip on more cups of this delicious tea.

Before you leave with your fresh new ‘do, don’t forget to stock up on your favourite Kevin Murphy products. They have a fab range of the cult haircare brand, at competitive prices.

Polished Nail and Lash Bar

3/190 Scarborough Beach Rd, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016

Any good pamper day isn’t complete without focusing a little attention on your fingers and toes. Pop into Polished Nail and Lash Bar to add the finishing touches to your complete new look. There’s a ton of nail colours to flick through, while your feet are soaked, scrubbed, and massaged!

Shockwaves Hair Design

5/190 Scarborough Beach Rd, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016

If there’s one reason to head into Shockwaves Hair Design, it’s for their involvement with the Sustainable Salons organisation. While you’re getting your hair done, you can feel good knowing that any ‘waste’ product from the salon is being put to good use. All plastics are sent off to be recycled into outdoor furniture, landscaping supplies, and even more product packaging; while foil, colour tubes, and unwanted tools get sold off for other recycling purposes.

The Wellness Studio

397 Oxford St, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016

Sitting at the top end of Oxford St, The Wellness Studio combines yoga, remedial massage, and chiropractic services, into one complete wellness package. Their suite of services work hand in hand with each other, but chiropractics is where the studio’s focus truly lies.

This isn’t just any chiropractic practice – this is what is called an ‘integrative’ chiropractic practice. Basically, that means that rather than performing a simple adjustment on clients, the chiropractor quizzes about lifestyle and performs a series of tests, to build a more informed assessment of the individual. The result? A more targeted and effective treatment, and a happier customer!

Aspen Coaching

116 Hobart St, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016

Not into treadmills and rowing machines? Neither is Aspen Coaching.

Taking a machine-free approach to fitness, Aspen Coaching are all about strength through diversity. Classes here are a mile away from your Goodlife Les Mills classes. Instead, they focus on strength, mobility, balance, locomotion, and conditioning. If you’re struggling to find a workout that keeps you interested, maybe Aspen is your answer?

Instead of grinding away on a lat machine, a strength class will have you learning things on the rings, hanging from bars, and maneuvering dumbbells. For something even further away from a conventional gym, book into a mobility class. This class will have you bending, stretching, and moving those immobile joints, all with the aim of making you stronger and more limber.

The City of Vincent is running a ‘Shop Local’ competition, where three lucky followers will win a prize pack valued over $1000. It’s filled with the best the Vincent retailers have to offer, so be sure to keep an eye out their socials for details.
