Behrendorff has just shredded Victoria’s batting line-up on his way to the 5th best bowling figures in Sheffield Shield history with a 9-37 performance over 13.2 overs on opening day – the best bowling display in 50 years.

Best bowling in a Shield innings:

  1. 10-36 – Tim Wall (SA), 1933
  2. 10-44 – Ian Brayshaw (WA), 1967
  3. 10-61 – Peter Allan (QLD), 1966
  4. 9-30 – Ike Travers (SA), 1900
  5. 9-37 – Jason Behrendorff (WA), 2017

The Bushrangers won the toss and elected to bat a decision they would soon regret as Behrendorff simply tore through the lineup.

The Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers, who are chasing a third consecutive Shield title and sit in top spot on the table, were rolled for just 117 in 34.2 overs.

Warriors teammate David Moody spoiled the party by removing No.4 batsman Aaron Finch – denying Behrendorff a perfect 10.
