IGA

IGA is a strong independent alliance of grocery stores, so there’s a wide variety in their Perth shopping hours – however, they have stated there would be no change to their current hours of operation.

Opening hours

  • As normal

So if your local IGA is 7am to 8pm daily, then that’s most likely the same. Sorry, we just can’t be more specific…

You can check out your local store hours here though.

Current shopping restrictions

Being more of a collective means that restrictions are managed store-by-store:

“In the spirit of helping everyone in our local communities access essential items, stores have placed purchase limits on items that are critically low in stock. These limits are being managed on a store by store basis and are increasing day by day.

Suppliers of these critical lines continue to work overtime to meet the increased demand, and they have placed additional staff into our warehouses to help us with ordering as well.

As IGA stores are all independently operated, please ask your store about their limits as each varies based on the demand of their local community.”

Returns

It’s the same with returns, The IGA website states:

“IGA stores have different return policies, however given the magnitude of purchasing we are temporarily suspending “change of mind” return policies.”

Costco

Ahead of the Costco Perth opening on Thursday there hasn’t been any official word on changes to opening hours or shopping restrictions outside of toilet paper.

More to come as communications from Costco are provide.

Opening Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 10.00am–8.30pm
  • Saturday: 9.00am–6.30pm
  • Sunday: 10.00am–6.00pm
  • Senior Shopping Hour: (60+ years & members with physical disabilities) 9am – 10am Thursday 26/3/2020

This Senior Hour is a one-off at this stage, but we’d like to think Costco would roll this out on a regular basis while we’re under the Coronavirus cloud.

Stay safe out there.

Bare shelves can make us stressed out – but please be nice to those working in the supermarkets, who are doing their best and of course other Perth shoppers.

Perth have your say
