We recognise some of Perth’s inspiring and empowering women
This year for International Women’s Day, we decided it was important for us to celebrate and recognise some awesome Perth women who inspire and empower us.
We asked you, our readers, which Perth women inspire you the most. Through those answers, you’ve introduced us to so many current and future leaders who are doing amazing things.
The theme for this year’s IWD is #BreaktheBias.
What does this mean?
“Imagine a gender-equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.”
The fact of the matter is, we shouldn’t need a day to have conversations about gender equality. We can make a daily difference.
Individually and collectively, we can all work to break the bias and make this world a reality. Part of doing this means shining a spotlight on some pretty amazing (and of course, inspiring) women in our community. That’s where we come in.
We came up with a list of 20 kick-ass, inspirational Perth women who are making moves.
But wait! Not only will you get to read about these fabulous ladies, but you’ll also get to hear from some of them.
So Perth’s podcast mini-series, Break the Bias, is your opportunity to really get to know some of these inspirational women.
We’ll be releasing a short series of episodes where we sit down with a few listees and dig into their passions, inspirations, and amazing achievements.
