With no movies or events to review what’s a girl to do?

But there’s a whole backlog of movie releases that I can tell you about.

Here are three movie suggestions that I’ll be watching once life returns to normal. I hope you do too.

I don’t think there’s ever been a time when we needed a dark comedy as much as now. I was really looking forward to this one and will definitely be looking out for it. With Daniel Radcliffe and Rhys Darby why wouldn’t you?

Miles (Daniel Radcliffe) is a video game developer who’s stuck in a dead-end job and still in love with his ex-girlfriend Nova. One day he wakes up to find guns taped to his hands. Unbeknown to him, a gang called Skizm is running a deadly competition within his city, in which complete strangers fight to the death for the entertainment of an online audience of millions. Miles soon finds himself caught up in the game and forced to fight in a battle to the death. While Miles excels at running away from everything, that won’t help him outlast Nix, a killer at the top of her game. Intriguing enough for you?

The Assistant

With echoes of the #MeToo movement, The Assistant focuses on Jane (Julia Garner), a personal assistant to a powerful executive. The audience is asked to watch on as Jane performs her daily drudge of routines, often to the sounds of belittlement. But then, when all seems lost, Jane decides to act. Who amongst us hasn’t dreamt of doing that in our early careers?

Greed

If, like me, you’ve loved Steve Coogan’s series of road trip movies, you’ll want to check out Greed. Especially as it also stars David Mitchell and Isla Fischer. Stars aside, the story is an intriguing look into the fashion industry. The movie centres on the life of self-made billionaire Sir Richard McCreadie (Steve Coogan). The story is told through the eyes of his biographer Nick (David Mitchell). McCreadie has been king of the high street for three decades, until a very public inquiry. With his image in tatters, he spends a year planning a lavish 60th birthday party on Mykonos. What could possibly go wrong?
