It’s been a while between drinks (in pubs) – This ISO Perth beer tour is here to help

Beer is the nectar of the gods. It’s brewed, consumed and talked about at great length, with immense passion and staunch rivalries and Perth beer is no exception.

On this Perth beer tour, you’ll get a BTS of the best breweries and do a “no tastings” tour with Hidden deTours and special guests, Daniel Rootman (Daniel Loves Beer) and Chris Buckee (Chris Buckee Reviews Beer) Perth beer enthusiasts who love the froffs.

The Perth beer tour makes four stops; Nowhereman Brewing Co., Bright Tank Brewing Co., Seasonal Brewing Co., and Blasta Brewing Co. – do you wanna see how it went?

Read on beer-loving friends!

Nowhereman Brewing Co.

He’s a real Nowhereman, sitting in his Nowhere Land, making all his Nowhere plans…for No-one.

Nowhereman gets its name from The Beatles song, and they love a banger as much as the next guy. Their Kylie beer proved very popular and there may or may not be footage of brewery shenanigans with some gold booty shorts.

During the live stream on Facebook we’re taken behind the scenes by Luke, who chats Lagers and passes us onto resident Cicerone, Pia.

Chatting beer with Luke and Pia at Nowhereman Brewing Co.

Stop one on Perth's first ISO Beer Tour was Nowhereman Brewing Company in West Leederville. We had a yarn with Luke about the brewery and what makes a Lager. Pia told us more about being a Certified Cicerone and her passion for beer. We invited our special guests and beer loving pals – Chris Buckee (Chris Buckee reviews Beers) and Daniel Rootman (@daniel_loves_beer) to chat about Nowhereman's four featured beers with Pia:*Leederville Lager* Rhapsody XPA* DL Dark Lager* Kylie IPA

She talks Chris and Daniel through the featured beers and shows off her passionate and extensive knowledge of the froffs.

Next stop – Bright Tank Brewing Co.

Bright Tank Brewing Co.

Bright Tank Brewing Co. is in the back roads of East Perth and a favourite among beer-loving footy fans due to its proximity to Perth Stadium.

The live stream catches owner Matt out the front where the BBQ s being packed up as they completely sold out of food! How awesome to see in these “unprecedented times” some businesses are finding success in their pivots.

Beer chats with Matt and Tim at Bright Tank Brewing Co.

Stop 2 on the ISO Beer Tour and Bright Tank Restaurant & Bar in East Perth was heaving with patrons keen to take part in their outdoor BBQ feast and pick up some take away beers. It was so great to see the place such a hive of activity! We chatted to owner Matt about their new BBQ meals and other fab food offerings and found out a little more about this unique brewery. Apparently we owe it all to Gemma his lovely wife! Then it was over to Tim to take us through all things yeast, Pale Ales, IPA's, NEIPA's and more. Daniel (@daniel_loves_beer) and Chris (Chris Buckee reviews Beers) had a good yarn with Tim about their four featured beers:* East Perth Lager* New World Order Pale Ale* Smally Session Red IPA* Big Red Smeg Head IIPA

Matt talks about how it was all his wife’s idea to open the brewery and a bit of the history behind the tanks and we follow him inside to meet Tim, talk yeast and meet Daniel and Chris to talk about the feature beers.

Off to Maylands to see new kid on the block, Seasonal Brewing Co.

Seasonal Brewing Co.

The sun is shining as the tour lands in Maylands at the beer garden on Guildford road, where we see Nick and find out the brewing philosophy behind keeping it seasonal.

Checked out Seasonal Brewing Co. and chatted with Nick and Brody

On stop 3 of the ISO Beer Tour we headed to Maylands to The Seasonal Brewing Company for chats with Nick the owner about their awesome new food deals and vision behind th is popular brewery. Brody the brewer shared his insights about the brewery, stouts and tastings notes with Chris (Chris Buckee reviews Beers) and Daniel (@daniel_loves_beer). Four featured beers discussed were:*Malicious Compliance NEIPA* Runaway Forklift Pale Ale* Trainspotting Black IPA*Modern Rustic Red Farmhouse Ale

The tour heads inside to brewer Brodie who talks us through the feature range with Chris and Daniel and shows off his cans. We’re mad about the new packaged selection and the cans look the business.

Now they head off to Blasta Brewing Co.

Blasta Brewing Co.

Blasta is “delicious” in Gaelic and we start this part of the tour under the unicorn mural – an ode to Scotland’s national animal (yep- their national animal is the unicorn!)

Josh from Blasta tells Monique about the Scottish link, and the Haggis Spring Rolls on their menu – which are incredibly popular and we’d hesitantly give ’em a go.

Next the tour’s welcomed into the brewery for a BTS on the process and the canning machine by brewer Grant, who walks us up to the other brewer, Hugh who chats through the range of feature beers with Daniel and Chris.

Beer chats with Josh, Hugh and Grant at Blasta Brewing Co.

Stop 4 on the ISO Beer Tour with the awesome crew from Blasta Brewing Company. It was so great chatting with Josh and Grant about the brewery side of things – plus the famous Haggis Spring Rolls.Special guests – Daniel (daniel_loves_beer) and Chris (Chris Buckee reviews Beers) talked beer with Hugh the brewer and covered their 4 featured beers, plus a sneaky new one:* Rampant Raspberry* Grimster Rocks Pale Ale* Unleash the Beast* Wee Heavy Scotch Ale

The Perth beer tour ends here.

So there you have it folks, a pub with no beer might be lonesome, morbed or drear – but a brewery without tastings is just as interesting while you can still sip the whares from your couch.

So interesting to see BTS and meet the brewers who make our local beers. And to see the venues adapt from their normal state (which would have been packed!) to be making deliveries, selling takeaway food and getting their amber refreshments into cans so we can enjoy them and continue to support out local hospo people doing it tough.
