City of Perth’s Council House will glow with the colours of the rainbow flag tonight, in tribute to the victims of the Orlando attacks at the weekend.

Perth will join in solidarity with dozens of other nations around the world tonight.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said Council House would join international landmarks in a show of solidarity and mourning for those affected.

“It is incredibly sad to think of the victims, their families and the effect this shattering and cowardly act will have on the wider community,” Ms Scaffidi said.
“With reports of at least 50 people dead and 53 injured, it’s a heartbreaking tragedy and despite being all the way across the globe, the devastation hits home here in Perth.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this abhorrent act.”
Tribute displays around Australia include Sydney Town Hall, Melbourne Arts Centre, Adelaide Oval, Brisbane’s Story Bridge and Kings Avenue Bridge in Canberra.
