WA heads towards absolute zero.

In stark comparison to Victoria, the latest Perth COVID-19 update has seen Western Australia record 0 new cases overnight and now has only 2 active cases remaining.

“We’ve seen a significant drop in the number of active cases of COVID-19 in WA in the last week, with now just two cases remaining active, both involving returned overseas travellers who remain in hotel quarantine.” Mr McGowan states.

While Western Australia edges towards absolute zero, the continued arrival of overseas travellers and the threat from Victoria and New South Wales means Western Australia has to continue its efforts.

“And I would ask every Western Australian – please don’t let up your efforts to keep our community safe.”

The good news in active cases has come off the announcement yesterday from the McGowan government of a $5.5 billion economic plan for Western Australia Recovery Plan as the state heads out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Phase 5 of the restriction ease road map is still scheduled for August 15th.
