Security guards will now have the power to stop people leaving the hotels and breaching a quarantine direction.
Acting WA Premier Roger Cook today announced in the latest Perth COVID-19 update that security guards at WA quarantine hotels will be given specific powers to stop people leaving the hotels and breaching a quarantine direction.
This amendment comes off the back of a review was announced on Sunday after returned overseas traveller Jenny D’Ubis walked out unopposed from a low-security quarantine hotel in the city on Saturday.
The Health Department will also review the physical barriers stopping people from leaving hotels.
