Recap of the latest Perth COVID-19 news for the week.

Since Monday 21/9 to Friday 25/9 in Perth, there have been 6 confirmed cases of COVID-19 recorded, with 9 active cases now within the state.

The new cases were confirmed on Tuesday and Thursday – with three cases recorded each day.

Four cases were individuals returning to Perth from overseas, while two were crew members from a bulk carrier off the coast of Port Hedland.

Authorities were alerted by the ship’s captain advising there were two workers with flu-like symptoms.

Mr Cook said two nurses in full PPE were flown onto the ship to test the crew members who then returned positive tests on Thursday.

The two crew members are in isolation within the ship and the remaining seven active cases in WA are all in hotel quarantine.
