Western Australia has recorded only 1 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend.

After a week which saw 18 news cases of COVID-19, the latest Perth COVID-19 update for the weekend has seen only 1 new case of COVID-19 recorded.

The new case was reported on Sunday with the individual in hotel quarantine.

WA’s positive COVID-19 case total now stands at 818.

There are now 24 active cases within WA and 785 confirmed cases have recovered from the virus.

All 24 active cases are currently in hotel quarantine as Perth continues to see positive cases from returning international travellers.

There have been 546,698 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 90,424 were from regional WA.

Further positive news from Victoria over the weekend with the state now reaching 30 days where Victoria has recorded zero daily cases. There has been no further update on Victoria’s border restrictions from Mark McGowan over the weekend with an update expected early in the week.

“I’ll be consulting with the chief health officer, health officials, the police commissioner and the like about these matters. But as I said the whole way along, our approach has been to be very, very cautious.” said Mr McGowan.
