The wrap-up of Perth COVID-19 news over the weekend has seen 0 new cases recorded and 4 cases recovered – despite a quarantine breach.

While there were no new cases recorded in Perth over the weekend, the outcome could have been much different with the COVID-19 breach that occurred at the Hotel Northbridge on Friday night.

On Friday a 53-year-old man entered man travelling from Queensland allegedly skipped COVID-19 hotel quarantine after he complained of non-COVID-19 related symptoms upon arrival and was permitted entry to WA and taken to hospital by ambulance.

After receiving treatment he was told to wait for transport to hotel quarantine, which he failed to do so.

The individual was then found by police at Hotel Northbridge and he had also checked into a nearby backpackers hotel.

It was also reported that the 53-year old man did not have permission to enter WA.

Fortunately, the individual tested negative for COVID-19.

On Saturday, Western Australia had 9 active cases remaining, however, the Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday and 4 that cases have recovered – leaving only 5 active cases within the state.
